OK so I am changing out my regular dash for an AC dash and have the drilling out the spot weld thing down. However I am strong in mechanical like I have said on other posts but little or no experience welding, let alone body work or painting and need some advice. I can install the new dash, no problem but need a spot welder. I saw some 115v units on ebay but not sure what is good and not....opinions? I sure appreciate it

you'd just waste your money on a cheapy "eastwood type" spot welder because they don't have a wide enough throat opening or depth to do the job// you'd be better off with a mig-welder and drilling 3/8 or 1/4 inch holes thru both pieces of metal and plug welding them together and after grinding are very close to stock spotwelds
