sounds good to me
LUV2XCLR8 02-23-2006, 05:00 PM Well although I am not as close, for 2 years in a row, the only 2 years that
I have been on this board, I have had a cookout at my house (20 acres on
a dead end street in the country) but I am 1.5 hours west of Nashville so I
am not that conveinant to everyone, but if you pick a weekend in advance
I may be able to drive up for a all day hang-out on a Saturday, also just a
FYI, I am going to make one more attempt at a fall cookout, last 2 years I
have had less than 10 people show up for it and I supplied all the food

Luv you let me know when the cookout is and I will be happy to bring some food or wood if you need it, we have PLUNTY of firewood, so that would be nothing for me to bring a load of it down as long as I could borrow a truck from dad or grandad for the week.
LUV2XCLR8 02-23-2006, 06:15 PM No firewood needed, last 2 years running I supplied burgers, fries, cold
drinks (Soda/Tea/H20) I just want people to show up and have fun
If I get enough peeps this year I'm going to have BBQ delivered :metal:
I'm all for volunteering my house for a get together in the next few weeks/months. I'm close to Ashland City and Bowling Green. If you guys REALLY want to do it let's set a date. Any Saturday is good for me. I don't have to be at work until 10pm.
LUV2XCLR8 02-26-2006, 07:18 PM I'm all for volunteering my house for a get together in the next few weeks/months.
Hey Brian I'm cool w/ that, BUTTTTT, In the next few weeks months like
you said is the start of the car show season, hence why mine are always
in the fall, but if you schedule one I will do everything I can to show up,
but I will probably NOTTTTT be rolling in one of the Blazers, sorry no $ :(
71SWBChevy 02-26-2006, 10:49 PM Yellow as long as I knew about it before hand I would make every effort to get down there and meet you guys, the only week I can think of that I absolutely couldn't come down would be the 3rd week of March, pretty much any other week is fine with me just post on here or pm me and I will tell you for sure. Just choose a week that is good for you.
I'll look at the schedule of shows on the website and the shows that Igotachevyor2 posted and see what's a good weekend.
Craig-I didn't think about the car show season. That's why you're the MAN!
LUV2XCLR8 02-27-2006, 04:12 PM the only week I can think of that I absolutely couldn't come down would be the 3rd week of March
That makes 2 of us, my wife would kill me (11 Yr. Anniversery)

:b69: :baa: :drama: :aw: :ww:
CHEVYE 02-27-2006, 05:43 PM You know I'll be there, I hit all of the meets and have been to Luv's house a few times  . Been to Bryan's too and he has a good central location for all of us + it's only a couple of minutes from the interstate.
Either way just let me know. I'll be watching this thread.
Igotachevyor2 02-27-2006, 06:24 PM yall just let me know when you want to do somthing and ill make time....
How about this weekend? I just found out yesterday that I'm off Sat and Sun.
I know WAY SHORT NOTICE. Just tossing it out there.
Ron 586 02-27-2006, 08:36 PM Pardon the interuption but, any Sat. at anybodys house or my house I'm up for it. Being the new kid on the block I don't know anyone. Just tell me when and where. Thanks
71SWBChevy 02-27-2006, 10:54 PM How about this weekend? I just found out yesterday that I'm off Sat and Sun.
I know WAY SHORT NOTICE. Just tossing it out there.
Well I was thinking about heading home to ride four-wheelers this weekend but I guess I could come down if it was on Saturday, sunday wouldn't be good for me though.
See who all us can come.
you may want to PM some people on such short notice
LUV2XCLR8 02-27-2006, 10:56 PM I hit all of the meets and have been to Luv's house a few times
Yeppers, and I thank you for helping w/ the cowl hood that last time you were here ;)
How about this weekend? I just found out yesterday that I'm off Sat and Sun.
I know WAY SHORT NOTICE. Just tossing it out there.
:but: I can't this weekend, I just got back from visiting my Mother in St. Louis :(
I was thinking about the last weekend in March. Maybe the 24th? I'm not sure if Craig and Drew are considering that as the third weekend. Just bouncing that off you guys.
Will that work?
Bryan
CHEVYE 02-28-2006, 08:35 AM Sat. the 18th works for me. That's my Bday too. :metal:
This Saturday is fine with me too, but might be a little soon for you guys.
71SWBChevy 02-28-2006, 02:20 PM I can't make it if it is the 18th, I could probably come down on the 24 that is a Friday though is that what you meant or were you meaning that next saturday. I could also do it the 11th but I don't think anyone else has mentioned that weekend so I am guessing it won't work for most. Pretty much any weekend in April would work and once we get into may I would have to see what my summer work schedule will look like but I doubt I could make it most any weekend in May.
LUV2XCLR8 02-28-2006, 04:03 PM The 18th is OUT for me, 11 year wedding anniversery is that day, if I go
hang out with you guys that weekend someone is gonna have a new bro,
I am trying to get my finances figured out, I am putting money back for
Mmephis SCS and MV Truck'n Nats, so I'm tight at the moment, but you
guys just do whatever you can, I will try to make the next one, if I can't
make the one you guys are trying to plan, unless I sell something quick !
:drama:
Sorry, I meant March 25th, not the 28th.
That's a Saturday. The 10-12 is the big Hunters Show so I didn't think anybody wanted to come that weekend. The 18 and 19th Drew and Craig have plans. I probably will wait if the 25th isn't good.
71SWBChevy 02-28-2006, 10:25 PM I can come the 25th for sure, if that is good with everyone else then lets do it!
Igotachevyor2 02-28-2006, 10:32 PM the 25th is prolly good for me
71SWBChevy 03-01-2006, 12:18 AM So guys it looks like we will be meeting up at Yellows house on the 25th of March if that is good for everyone. Lets get a decent showing out there, Yellow do we need to bring any food or drinks with us?
Ron 586 03-01-2006, 02:36 PM I will be having rotator cup surgery on the 20th so don't think I'll be up for a road trip that quick. I had hoped for a better report but as of 9:30 AM this morning it is written in stone. Will stay in touch, (lucky me it is my left side won't affect my mouse hand at all) as sit at computer will be all I'm good for for a day or two.
LUV2XCLR8 03-01-2006, 03:45 PM So guys it looks like we will be meeting up at Yellows house on the 25th of March if that is good for everyone.
Not sure if I can make it yet, I won't know until that week :(
CHEVYE 03-01-2006, 04:14 PM Count me out of any decision making if it's at Bryan's. I'm closer than most of you guys so I should be able to make it pretty much anytime. Ya'll just decide when.
LUV2XCLR8 03-01-2006, 04:16 PM Eric, exactly how close are you? less than 30 minutes?
CHEVYE 03-01-2006, 04:52 PM 45 with no traffic, an hour with traffic. I'm about 50 miles away but 30 of it is backroads.
LUV2XCLR8 03-01-2006, 04:59 PM OIC, well I have not timed it, but it looks like 2 hours w/ no traffic, and
2.5 hours w/ traffic for me, not to bad, but to far for one of the 72's :whine:
71SWBChevy 03-01-2006, 05:34 PM Dang I am close then both of you guys I think he said that I was about 30 minutes away.
LUV2XCLR8 03-01-2006, 05:38 PM Dang I am close then both of you guys I think he said that I was about 30 minutes away.
Yes you are closer, now you know why I have trouble having events at
my place, Eric (Chevye) is the only one that is really somewhat close 2
me, and nobody else is really willing to drive that far for a cookout :whine:
Should we just not worry about it? and make it later on in the year?
Eric-Are you saying you wouldn't come if it's at my house? :(
71SWBChevy 03-01-2006, 07:49 PM Should we just not worry about it? and make it later on in the year?
Eric-Are you saying you wouldn't come if it's at my house? :(
I think he was trying to say that he can come at anytime, not sure though. If we can't get a decent crowd then we can put it off until later this year. If you guys really want to some weekend once the Corvette plant tours start back up we can meet in Bowling Green and tour the plant, I think it costs if you have more than 10 people though but normally it is free. Then just get something to eat but I don't have a house here we can hang at so that would be a problem.
If we decide on that date I'll post something on the regions board and invite everybody that's close. I know there are other guys that are in south KY and in the Nashville area that might come.
So far we have 3?
Igotachevyor2 03-01-2006, 08:25 PM im in for pretty much any weekend where ever i went to the corvette musem a few months back that place was cool arts corvettes across the street was even better had some cool classics 4 sale none i could afford but nice to look at

The museum is pretty cool but the plant is MUCH cooler!
Igotachevyor2 03-01-2006, 08:31 PM i bet
So do we want to write March 25th in stone? I'll figure out what you guys need to bring if this is so.
So far we got:
Chevye
Igotachevyor2
71SWBChevy
Luv(maybe)
I'll post something later on the regions board. Might go to the Tenn and the KY thread and PM some guys that are close.
CHEVYE 03-02-2006, 09:26 AM Should Eric-Are you saying you wouldn't come if it's at my house? :(
 Yer crazy man   . I was just letting everyone know that it's less of a hassle for me than them so there's no excuse for me not to make it.
Besides..... I haven't got to see that truck of yours since it's been done up. :metal:
CHEVYE 03-02-2006, 10:03 AM Alright guys we have a few more members that are close to Bryan's. I've met most all of em and hopefully they'll consider coming if possible.
We've got
BIGCHEVYMAN - John - he's 15 minutes from Bryan's
JerseyGirl - tree - 30 minutes away
ole school - buddy of mine hasn't visited here in a bit
Blue 71(Josh) and jewels - they're in Glasgow, Ky
Meathead (Keith) - he works an awful lot though.
Sinister72 - he's in Bowling Green
There are tons more of folks I've met around here but don't see em on the board much anymore.
I know John(bigchevyman) he had a 73-87 style truck but he sold it. I don't know if he's bought anythingelse. Since I think we're okay for the 25th. I'll post something on the regions board and I'll try to PM some people to make sure they get it.
Here you go guys:

Eric,
I PM'd sinister and old school, but couldn't find Blue 71. There are a couple in the member list but none of them are him. I know who you are talking about he's the one who's brother was murdered last year.
I found or knew the rest of the guys/gals.
If you know what I'm doing wrong let me know.

CHEVYE 03-02-2006, 05:38 PM Eric,I PM'd sinister and old school, but couldn't find Blue 71.
He's right here. I ran some parts from his house in KY to Craig's house in Beech Bluff one time. He's not too far from ya at all.
He's about 8 [posts down. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=159001
LUV2XCLR8 03-02-2006, 07:00 PM Damn, you mean we gotta bring something? Don't I count

What are you complaining about, Craig? I'm 3.5-4 hrs. away and I'm gonna try and make it. The 68 will drink way too much gas, but the 86 Jimmy might do a little better if I get new tires before the 25th.:metal:
Actually kq4pc-The best way for you to come to White House and get on Hwy 76. I assume you know that much since you installed the HVAC system. Get on 76 and soon as you go under the interstate towards Springfield just take a right on Pleasant Grove Rd. It's about 1/3 mile past the interstate. Go 2.5 miles down and my house is on the left. Just follow the directions from the PM.
LUV2XCLR8 03-02-2006, 10:11 PM What are you complaining about, Craig?
Not complaining about the distance, just my finances, wish I could drive the Roadster :whine:
I wish you could too, but take the Roxanne's car.
I know this is going to sound a little coincidental but my 700r4 is ready at the shop. I told the guy to take his time. I just wanted it back a few weeks before MV so I could test it.
Anybody interested in helping with the install?
I don't want this to turn into a big work on trucks thing and I'm not inviting everybody over to help me install my tranny. Just thought I'd ask.
Ron 586 03-02-2006, 11:38 PM With this many showing up it will be my best chance to meet some folks. I'm going to try to make it but for sure won't be in 72 Big Orange. I'll use the weekend ride and maybe get a driver. Just have to see how the slice and dice on the 20th turns out. Would not be much help with the trans. install but promise to stay out of the way.

Are you wanting to install the tranny the week of the 25th? If you would prefer to do it another weekend and I could get some dinner out of the deal I might make a trip down just to help with the tranny install, I haven't installed a tranny in a RWD car or truck before but I am more than willing to help!
I'm not sure if I'll attempt to install it that weekend or not. I'm probably going to go pick it up on Monday. I can't afford the driveshaft cut or the TV Cable right now. Without a lift it's going to make it harder so who knows it might be installed by the 25th.
68Stepbed 03-03-2006, 01:48 PM Not complaining about the distance, just my finances, wish I could drive the Roadster :whine:
I understand. I'm just raggin ya.

Get a couple of ratchet straps to run under the tranny and hook the ends to the frame on either side (kind of cradle like). Cut the heads off two starter bolts to use for guides. Screw the bolts into the engine (I use the 2nd hole up from the bottom on either side) and use the straps to get the tranny off the ground high enough to get the jack under it. That's the easiest way to install a tranny by yourself without a lift.
Not that you asked for my advice or anything.
I appreciate the advice. I talked to the instructor over at the high school about using one of their lifts. He works on our patrol cars also, so I think I was able to talk him into using their lift sometime in the next couple of weeks.
To get back to the subject at hand:
We probably need to have a roll call, if you will, around the 19th or 20th so I know how much meat to buy. I know some will be bringing their wives and some will be alone.
LUV2XCLR8 03-05-2006, 07:26 AM I know some will be bringing their wives and some will be alone.
 Hey damnit, you didn't say nuthing about me having to bring my wife :haha:
Hey,
If you can get out of the house alone do it. My wife doesn't mind going places like this. Apparently Robb's doesn't either. Although she wasn't too excited to stand around Tim's place at the Nationals last year. I don't think I explained to her that's what I had planned to do. This year she's going to be more prepared. :)
LUV2XCLR8 03-05-2006, 09:59 AM I'm just guckinf with ya, she will probably come :hm:

Got your PM, I looked you up on the map, it won't be that far out of the way,
if you want I can swing by and get ya, I may be hauling a few parts w/ me to
help fund my trip up and back so I will most likely be in the F-150, sorry B

Have you ever considered a life of crime. 1. I can ride in a ford just fine. 2. It don't matter what time you pick me up. 3. Breakfast at your choice of restaurants is on me.(Can't let that cute baby have to share his cheerios) Later.
LUV2XCLR8 03-07-2006, 09:09 PM I wish you could too, but take the Roxanne's car.

Just for the record I hate her ride
