Hi, I am having a problem with a short in my B+ wiring, ( the wire off the juction box near the battery) I have it eliminated to inside the cab as I have disconnected the engine harness from the fuse box at the firewall and the B+ shorts when I turn the ignition switch to on, looking at a wiring diagram I think it might be in the ignition switch or maybe at the starter solenoid or a pinched wire (I hope not:whine: ) as I have disconnected the light switch and the steering column plug and the gauge console is removed, any thoughts:confused:UPDATE Looking at the diagram ( and thank you for the color diagrams:gi: ) it has to be down the line from the ignition switch as it shorts only when I turn the ignition to on position, ignition switch maybe as the firewall plug is disconnected.

humm,,i'm either reading your post wrong or missing something,,if you have all that disconnected there should not be power anywhere in the cab to anything, but yet you say when you turn key on it shorts out..?? i'm missing something....unless someone may have run a hot directly from a hot in engine compartment to the cab bypassing the fuse box?? not sure what i'm missing...

sorry about that:o , I have been taking readings with a multimeter and getting about one ohm of resistance, I am sure it shoud be a lot more than that.

When you say you are using an ohm meter, are you checking the resistance between the terminals of the ign switch -or- between the start position and ground?

Well I got it fixed and I knew it would be something simple and right in front of me (the hot lead on the electric choke came off and was touching ground) but I had everything else apart of course and it was wiring someone put in before me so I didn't think about it. But its fixed and I put in a new console bezel and it looks great. So I am a happy camper again. Thanks for the replys:lol:

YEP...that would do it since its tied directly to that circuit.
