i am in the market for a compressor and sandblaster.i was wondering what size i would need and what is the best media for blasting the frame and steering components?also what is everyone else using?

View Full Version : compressor and sand blaster tedbick 02-23-2006, 10:29 PM i am in the market for a compressor and sandblaster.i was wondering what size i would need and what is the best media for blasting the frame and steering components?also what is everyone else using? cdowns 02-24-2006, 07:27 AM big air is the deal when blasting// i have a 7hp 60gal multi cylinder compressor with an auxillary 40 gallon tank running my pressurized blaster i also have 3water seperators in the system best thing i've fouind for outdoors blasting is bagged sandblasting sand@ $5a bag, people who haven't blasted will tell you all sorts of stuff that can run you up to $100 a bag as long as you've got a good respirator and a good hood wear eye protection gloves etc there isn't a promlem/// by setting up a system to recapture and recycle the sand i can sandblast a frame and suspension pieces at a cost of $20=$25 in about 2hours SLIMJIM 02-24-2006, 09:17 AM You can always rent a sanblasting package from a local equipment supply company. One's in my area rent the whole package for 170 per day. Media is about 5+ dollars a bag depending on which you go with. Good luck. SLIMJIM |
