Hi Shifty,
How do i set up my company personal e-mail ?
I work for a company that supplies an e-mail account for each of their suppervisors. I have CABLE Access. But is down since last week. High winds knocked down some trees and cable lines. I also have dial up as a back up. How do I use my Outlook express and how would I config it to send and receive my e-mail from my company? I'm currently going to my sisters house and using her cable hook up. I have the information on the laptop to switch over.

Thanks

John

It should be under TOOLS -> Email Accounts

:agree:

Open Outlook Express - if it's the first time you're opening it, it will ask you for the setup information.

There will be two specific mailservers you will need to enter: POP3 server (to retrieve your mail) and the SMTP server (to send out any email you write up). Your POP3 server will be specific to your work, use your login information as it is with your business. HOWEVER - big one here - you MUST use the SMTP server that is supplied by whatever internet provider you are using *unless* your company has some kind of user-password system for the SMTP server (normally you have one for the POP3 server, but not SMTP).

If your sister uses email, copy her SMTP server info for her cable connection. Otherwise, you might have "refused to send" messages in Outlook Express.

Tryed what was said.No go....To complicated trying to us the information from company laptop. Nothing i did worked, so i'm letting it go till i get my cable back.
I even tryed logging on using the company dial up service (Long Distence call)
that didn't even work.
Thanks again,
