View Full Version : Is this a Chalet??? kevinr1970 03-01-2006, 01:09 AM Craigslist ad (http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/137852639.html) 72 CustomCamper 03-01-2006, 06:31 PM I think that camper was made by a company called Off-Road Campers. This is what the Chalet's looked like... Chuck stllookn 03-01-2006, 06:58 PM Now that is a very cool looking camper. Wish I could find one like that only about 11 ft long for my '68 50th Anniversary Longhorn! Paint to match! smokekiki 03-02-2006, 05:16 PM Here is a link to a blazer with a camper like the one on craigslist. It has a lot of pics http://www.pbase.com/shellyandjim_pics/1980_chevy_blazer wedgemon 03-02-2006, 06:54 PM There's been a Chalet on a car lot on Hyw 395 in Bishop, CA for At leat 2 years. I'll try to get pics my next trip thru. (Next Weekend) - Dave special-K 03-03-2006, 09:24 AM There were alot of companies making low-profile/pop-up campers for trucks and RVs(that`s what we used to call Blazers,Scouts,& Broncos). We never had them in the east.I always wanted one for a Blazer. They were all over the place in Colorado and I`m sure the rest of the west.I had an 8-footer,but I sold it last year.I want to get another for my GMC. 1976K5CHALET 03-03-2006, 04:09 PM Since moving to colorado from arizona i am constantly amazed at how many pop top campers are running around this state...and i live in the far west portion of the state. I love my chalet and eventually i'm going to tear it down to the ground and start over and modernize her next year i think. The tbi is great but the biggest issue is on road handling. I had her pretty much dialed in this winter until i put on some new shoes and made things worse. The big-o mud terrains really affect the on-road handling as apposed to the goodyear rts i was running. It killed my 12mpg also but i was expecting that. Overall i love my chalet...hell'uva rig. DW |
