i'm at work so I cant measure but when i was working on mine I bolted the windshield part doent and jacked up on the body a litlle till my front holes lined up once I got them in I just bolted in the rest and it held.

back to the question. mines a double wall and it comes right up to the edge maybe 1/4 back so there is room for the stripping. you could measure on the bootom of your top from the front bolt forward and then do it on the bedrail.

I put new rubber in mine and still cant get the windows to seal. theres a 1/4" gap between my drivers window and the rubber in the top. I'm just having fits getting mine to line up. I hope you have better luck than I.

The problem is probably in your body mounts. If they are shot, you may have experienced some sagging once you took the top off. I know the top on my '72 doesn't fit around the door windows as nice as it did before I took it off for the first time. I probably should have replaced the body mounts before I pulled the top.

You might be able to jack up the center of the body and get the doors to align. I believe I read about this someplace on the board.

Thanks for the input all. the door was lining up with the with the door jamb and rocker panel ok it was at the top of the wind sheild post that was tight. I thought the top needed to move forward more to push the windsheild out. after about 4 or 5 times of measuring things i found the door is tweeked. time to weld in some braces and get busy with the floor.
