Say you are trying to buy a truck, and you have found 2 that are identicle other than the engine. Both are '93 chevy's with 140k + on them. Both have the same options and are in the same condition. How much less would you pay for the truck with the V6 than the one with the 350? I know how much N.A.D.A. says to deduct for the V6, but I'm curious how much is realistic.

Go for the 350.The 4.3 is a great little engine, but it doesen't belong in a fullsize pickup. At least in my opinion.I'm swapping one out for a 335 as we speak.

No, I was selling the truck with the V6. You'll notice by my avatar that it is now sold. I'm with you, though. The 4.3 is a fine motor, I'm sure, but has no place in a full size truck. I knew that before I bough tthe truck, but also knew how much of a deal I was getting on it. I drove the truck 24,000 miles in a year, and got $600 more for it than I had in it.

My '90 GMC has the 4.3 in it and without looking under the hood you would swear it was a V8! It will burn the tires like there is no tomorrow and I've pulled the car trailer with my 72 GMC short box on it easily! I've had it loaded to the gills when I was remodeling my house too! It's been a great truck,I was leery of it having a V6, but I couldn't pass up what I paid for it 8 years ago. It gets between 18 and 23 mpg!
