So to spice up the 'burb section of the board and create some discussion:

I just hit up my local yard and found all the GM tranny dipsticks missing. That was the last thing I expected to see in demand.
So, what the heck is with tranny dipsticks.....are they that hot of an item? The yard didn't seem to think so..........I asked before hitting the yard and they only wanted a couple of bucks and he was surprised when I returned and told him all the dipsticks were gone.......
so what's up?

having run two auto salvage facilities, i can tell you that trinket junk like that is stolen faster than you can imagine, the funny thing is, i would have given most of it away anyway if asked, it would likely wind up in the crusher if not snagged by some local thief. oh well it all comes back to ya, if they want to bring down the wrath over a $2.00 dipstick so be it they are the same people that blame all their problems on someone else blah blah blah

Takes one to take one:crazy: Maybe they get damaged when the tranny is removed, they're usually not to careful.

I see a pattern forming here... now someone tell ME what happens with socks and dryers? my theory goes something like this. They go out the vent and rise into the atmosphere up into the HOSONE layer. Then, occasionally they come back down into someone elses dryer. we have a whole basket of socks that we dont recognize and i'm sure we arent alone. how many times have you found a sock and thought "where did this come from"? hmmmmm....

Why is this noticed. Every Auto tranie shop has piles of dipsticks and only a few tranies. The tranie shops must be the culperts?
