I have a 93 Chevy C3500 Dually. I am wondering what controls the delay feature on the wipers. My guess is that this is fried in my truck as well. (I have found lots of electrical stuff fried from what appears to be a big problem where battery cable found the ground of the truck at one time.
Anyways, this is what is happening. If I turn my wipers on delay, they will wipe, delay, wipe, delay, wipe, wipe, delay, wipe, wipe, wipe, delay. And after that they just become so erractic on when it will delay and when it won't.
Curious as to what controls this and where I can find it at.
Thanks!

I'd look for a good used wiper motor and just replace the whole thing. You'll find this is just as cheap as buying the circuit board inside the wiper motor. When you are running them on low or high, not delay, do they quit wiping randomly? Do they ever refuse to come on when you turn the control knob on?

Actually the circuit board in the wiper motor is cheaper than a complete wiper assembly. Especially since you would most undoubtedly be buying someone else's problem child of a wiper motor. The wiper control circuit board gets wet or damp and it causes it to hang up. When you change out the board, put some silicone on the cover edge to seal the edge up. I changed mine some time ago and the problem has dissapated since. Also check where your plug connects to the wiper motor and make sure the contacts on the plug are making good contact.

That's why I specified a "good used" motor. I just bought one from a board member for $35 shipped. You'll have that in a circiut board easily. If you can't find a good used motor out of a wrecked truck or something, then yeah, you're better off doing the circuit board

For the money, it was easier for me to just remove the card and put another in, basically two screws and some sealer. That way I didn't have to pull the motor and disengage the wiper armas and then hook it all up again. There is no definition for a "Good Motor". What is good now, might not be in a week, since it is used, you never know---glad you got a good one the first time.

All of the other settings work fine. Low and High work great. The wipers never hesitate to come on. It's just that the delay portion is all whacked up.
So the circuit board is in the wiper motor assembly? And can you get this board at a parts store or is this a salvage part?
When I find out where the board is at, I will look at that first. Perhaps it is just a bad connection. I had to replace the headlight switch because the contacts inside were burnt bad. This truck definitely had a bad power surge at one time and fried many things. Maybe it just burnt the connections a bit and a little emery and some electrical grease and we will be back in business.
Thanks for the input!

Sounds like all you need is Part #5 in this diagram:

That looks like the piece I would need. Thank you for the diagram. Lets me know exactly where this board is at! I've never owned anything that has this fancy stuff on it! :)
Thanks everyone!
