Where are you putting your fuel filler door?
|
View Full Version : Not another build thread! Progress on my '67 timcos 09-10-2006, 07:29 PM Where are you putting your fuel filler door? 67ChevyRedneck 09-10-2006, 07:31 PM Another of the gate on the truck... This was a "counterparts" tailgate. Not sure if that's tri-plus or not (I don't think it is?) and I was very happy with the gage, fit and quality of the gate. Now I can't say the same for ALL counterparts parts, but the tailgate was nice:) Edit: I don't know what's up with my camera, it took several "crappy/blurry" pics this weekend??? I didn't change any settings... timcos 09-10-2006, 07:33 PM I can't wait to get my truck back form the nechanics...so I can get cranking on my body work...your pics and other's pics really make me salivate. 67ChevyRedneck 09-10-2006, 07:35 PM Where are you putting your fuel filler door? I'm fixin to show ya ;) The final thing I did this weekend was sand sand sand and sand some more on the rear fenders. They ain't perfect, but they are a dang good driver quality  They have two heavy coats of primer, a lot of bondo, and lots of hours sanding. Heres the painted pics :) 67ChevyRedneck 09-10-2006, 07:37 PM That fuel filler door goes right here in the fender! Here's some pics of it put back together. It sits nice and flush with the fender after some adjustments. 67ChevyRedneck 09-10-2006, 07:41 PM I didn't have time to get the fenders on the truck this weekend. I didn't finish painting until 11 am this morning and I was too pooped to do anything else. The tailgate hinges were still wet too, so they aren't on the truck either. Don't worry, there's a towel between the bumper and tailgate  I cleaned up my uncle's garage super nice and put the fenders in the bed for the time being. Next time I'll repaint the backside of them (black), put the fenderwelt on and get 'em on the truck! This won't be for a couple weeks though, I have prior commitments with Jena (it's our 3 year anniversary (of dating) September 26th.) So she has me for the next two weekends :c2: the other woman will have to wait for her new tires and tranny  67ChevyRedneck 09-10-2006, 07:45 PM I would like to thank everyone so much for the encouragements and good will. I would also like to be honest with everyone here and be the first to say that this paintjob is NOT as nice as the pictures. It was intended to be a daily driver job and it has turned out to be so. There's a wave here and there, a bunch of bugs, and I even managed to put a couple chips in it that I've already filled in. I just don't want anyone to think I've done something amazing. It's nothing more than something any of you could do at home yourselves. I'm not cutting myself short either, I'm still very proud of my truck and paintjob, but to be honest, it's a 10 footer :) Thanks for everything peeps. I'll keep updating as I get more parts/tranny/wheels and interior finished... Edit....what did y'all think of my spray booth and parts hangers???   jimmydean 09-10-2006, 08:08 PM Looks great to me! I would rather have a good paint job I did myself than a great paint job I paid someone to do on my driver. But I take a lot of pride in doing everything I can do myself on my rig. Palf70Step 09-10-2006, 08:42 PM Great job on it. Looks like you got some of the same parts hangers I do. ;) I hope to be playing with my spray gun soon too. The old girl is coming out of her shell for sure. The beast to the beauty!! timcos 09-10-2006, 09:24 PM Do you guys paint outside...or did you move the cart outside after you painted? Thanks SactoJim 09-10-2006, 10:22 PM Hard to believe how good of results you can get painting outside.....looks pretty dang good!! Looks like your using Martin Senour products....Single Stage or Base, clear. I used to be a rep for Martin Senour and still use the stuff. Canadian694x4 09-10-2006, 10:41 PM Man that's looking spectacluar! Well Done! 67ChevyRedneck 09-11-2006, 08:32 AM Do you guys paint outside...or did you move the cart outside after you painted? Thanks I would never paint inside without proper ventilation (which this garage doesn't have.) Plus, I didn't feel like covering everything up in the garage to keep overspray off of it. If you paint the the morning, columbia typically has really nice weather, at least until 4 or 5 then there might be a quick pop up shower, but I could touch the parts and put them in the garage by then. Looks like your using Martin Senour products....Single Stage or Base, clear. I used to be a rep for Martin Senour and still use the stuff. Yup, Martins paint, single stage urethane. The only thing I wish I had done different was no metalic, I didn't know you couldn't wetsand urethane metallic. Otherwise, good stuff. 67ChevyRedneck 09-19-2006, 09:06 AM I got a "new" (to me) tilt column. Pretty good deal on it. Everything is tight, but I think I'm going to replace a few things on it, take it apart and repaint it. abadsvt 09-19-2006, 10:39 AM Just to help clarify the wetsanding thing. You can not wetsand a single stage metallic because you will sand the metallic and it will look like crap. You can sand single stage solid colors though. I just thought i would help clarify your comment. By the way you doing a great job! I really like how you did you gas cap! Keep up the good work! 67ChevyRedneck 09-19-2006, 10:51 AM Just to help clarify the wetsanding thing. You can not wetsand a single stage metallic because you will sand the metallic and it will look like crap. You can sand single stage solid colors though. I just thought i would help clarify your comment. By the way you doing a great job! I really like how you did you gas cap! Keep up the good work! Yeah, I think the owner of martin's paint is a member here? He replied to my wetsanding question a couple months ago and said the same thing you did... why oh why did I need to have the sparklies? I now wish I hadn't gone metallic, but NAPA didn't charge me "extra" for it, so I said, what the heck, why not? Thanks man :) I like how it came out too. It should line right up with the tanks filler neck. This could only be done on a fleetside or a stepside with shaved markers (and of course original 67's). Not something someone would notice right away, but that's what I like about it. shifty 09-20-2006, 07:40 PM Just clearcoat it and sand it. I think I had the impression you already clearcoated it :) 67ChevyRedneck 09-27-2006, 10:26 AM I got my wheels! WoHooo! 235/75/R15 :ennyd: Yes, they are in my living room. Check my board name if verification is needed as to why. Tynee 09-27-2006, 10:34 AM Those will look great on the truck. Give us the current status, what all is left to do? You haven't touched the interior yet, right? 67ChevyRedneck 09-27-2006, 01:12 PM Those will look great on the truck. Give us the current status, what all is left to do? You haven't touched the interior yet, right? No real updates. The truck is in Columbia (a couple hours from me) so when I update this thread it's usually when I have spent a weekend there. I have a tranny on order, should be in today, I'm taking friday off work and heading to columbia thursday night to get the rear fenders back on, all the lights on and working, swap out the trannies (already had a 700R4 in it, so it should be a few hour swap) and THEN get all of the bowtie OD stuff in and working, get the exhaust hung properly again, get the fuel lines and filler neck done, put the seat and seatbelts back in it, get the new tires on..... and ummmm..... smoke the living piss out of them :metal: Crap, that's a lot of stuff..... I may need another weekend  67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:35 PM Back to COLA once again! Started this weekend off by working friday morning when I was told I could have it off earlier in the week. Oh well, my christmas bonus had better be real nice this year.... doesn't hurt to kiss a lil ass now and then, does it? :D Anyway, back to the truck, I painted the backside of my fenders...again... and then on saturday morning used sticky adhesive spray to put fender welts on my fenders. I know some people say they promote rust.... eh, oh well. There were on my truck for 10 years and rust wasn't an issue. The fun part was cutting out the holes. 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:38 PM Ooops, I lied, the first thing I did was install my new rims/tires!!!! I actually drove the truck to school for a year with the rear tires in the second pic. You do some stupid things when you ain't got no money  They look worse in person, they are REALLY dry rotted. I'm not even sure how they held air? 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:41 PM Hmmmmmmmm, good thing I wanted white letters out. 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:42 PM I got my transmission from an undisclosed location. I don't wish to disclose where I got it from until I have a few K on it, so don't ask, I won't answer. Yup, it's a 700R4. I forgot to takes pics of the one I pulled out. Looks just like this one, just dirtier. I also installed a bowtie overdrives TV made EZ kit and their lock-up kit. I already had a 700R4 in the truck, so no further mods were necessary. This took me most of the weekend as I didn't have the proper tools. IE a lift, trans jack, and any other tool that makes this pain in the ass job go easier. All I had were a couple of POS jacks, jackstands, and hand tools. Good thing I only weighed 165lbs, my skinny ass barely fit under the truck. I also spent some time getting the exhaust hung again. No more rubbing the driveshaft! I took the truck for a test drive. Only about 4 miles. It was a BLAST! I freaked out at first cause I only had 3 gears, but then I realized my lokar shifter was only in 3  I highly recommend LOKAR shifters, VERY nice product! I'm afraid of driving it anymore until I get a trans pressure gage and check the pressures. May need to adjust the TV cable. Don't want to burn up another one. But the shifts did feel good. On a side note, my dumb ass broke the retainer clip for the speedometer gear. OF COURSE NO ONE CARRIES IT BUT GM. GM IS CLOSED ON SATURDAYS! :banghead: I'm going to have to take my tailshaft back apart and put it in so I have a functioning speedometer again. 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:55 PM Once the fenders were on, it looked like a truck again. I liked how the fuel filler door came out on the truck. It blends right in. Palf70Step 10-01-2006, 09:56 PM Nice work. She's gettin there. I'll be glad when my is moveable under it's own steam again. 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 09:59 PM Here's a shot from underneath. I still need to buy some more clamps. I didn't have my vent line hooked up because I left the steel pipe piece that goes with it at home in Greenville :banghead: I think it's a fairly clean install. Lines up pretty well. I did screw up on the filler neck. I welded on a piece to match the filler neck, but it didn't so I had to make up the difference with a piece of muffler pipe (with different sized ends) and two different hose sizes. Oh well, it all works, right? 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 10:04 PM The tranny install wore me out and I didn't get around to the taillights or install the ECE 6 lug rotors that I've had for almost a year now! (The reason the truck still has the fugly white spokes on the front still because they are 5 lug now.) Here's some overall shots of the truck. Won't get back to the ole girl for a few weeks. Enjoy. 67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 10:05 PM It was GEORGOUS in Columbia today (low 80's, low humidity, and SUNSHINE!) So when I was taking pics, I had to delete a lot of them because of the "bling factor." I hope I don't blind people when I go flyin down the highway  67ChevyRedneck 10-01-2006, 10:08 PM Nice work. She's gettin there. I'll be glad when my is moveable under it's own steam again. There's always someone sneakin in on me  Thanks bud :metal: I can't wait till mine is in greenville... most likely early november, still a lot of piddley stuff to do that takes a lot of time. My tailight wiring is a MESS! (previous owner liked using multiple types of wire and duct tape  ) That was the biggest factor in me not messing with them this weekend. timcos 10-01-2006, 10:13 PM Very nice. 67ChevyRedneck 10-16-2006, 09:03 AM Well, I picked up another couch for the living room this weekend :haha: Well, actually, I headed up to KY with a friend to pick up this *FREEBIE* :D from Junkyardjohn. Real nice fella. He's got some real nice stuff up there! This should be in the truck this weekend. Not quite sure what to do with my silverado seat??? Guess I'll hang on to it for a while. shifty 10-16-2006, 09:48 AM Got any pics of that Silverado seat? I might be interested (if it ain't a bench seat). You coulda also had my bench seat for free, but ... couple springs busted and it's green, so it wouldn't match like that one would :) 67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:01 PM WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ALMOST DONE! I started off friday night swapping out the rotors, (from 5 lug to 6 to match the rear of the truck) 3 seperate trips to the parts store and I was done  It got cold FAST too. I painted the inner fender with a brush and some rustoleium semi gloss black. Looked much better than the black and blue over spray I had under there before. Edit: Believe it or not, there is some somewhat nice looking black paint under all of that mud, dust, and overspray (the suspension was FULLY rebuilt 2 years ago with all MOOG parts.) The shocks are new too, just need a new set for the rear now. Jayman931 10-22-2006, 10:03 PM Just read the entire thread from start to finish...so I have to post something... 8*) ..you should be proud! I am sure you are...This thread has me pumped to start on my truck I just bought! Thanks for the thread... 67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:12 PM I also installed my freebie seat from JYJ and some S-10 seat belts. They both looked awesome in the truck. The seat was surprisingly comfortable too, and the best part was that it was a direct bolt in! I do have a dilemma though. I have a lokar shifter and I recently bought a column shift tilt column. I would really like to add the tilt because there is barely enough room to slide my skinny legs under the steering wheel (I'm 5'8" and weigh 165) and it would be easier to get in and out of the truck, plus it's a freakin tilt column! They rock. The problem is I've actually driven the truck this weekend and I LOVE the lokar shift. I think I love floor shift vehicles  I have a brand new carpet... do I remove the lokar shifter and put the tilt in or remove the auto parts off the column (that I paid a pretty penny for) and cut up my new rug for the lokar shifter???? DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!!!!!! I got going down the road really good and opened up the floor vents... and I got bombarded with leaves and dirt  I LOVE these old trucks! :metal: EDIT: Ignore the black primer door jams and doors.... I still have to paint them  67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:19 PM I also spent some time attempting to repair the PO's redneck wiring (ironic huh?) and I actually got my LED taillights working pretty darned good. I really like 'em. Worth all of the $75 I paid for them. They are on in the first pic ("lights on"), they are definately brighter than the stock bulbs. The brake and turnsignals are real bright. I still need to install the back-up lights. I have them all painted and cleaned up, but the wiring for them was all black and burnt up on the inside and I didn't feel like rewiring them too, they can wait a while. 67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:24 PM And what eveyone has been waiting for :haha: drumroll please  The truck has new rims and tires on the front!!!!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOO :phat: 67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:27 PM I couldn't help but get two generations of GM trucks together. The '67 looks almost as big as the Z71 in one pic, but from a different anlge my Z71 dwarfs it  67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 10:37 PM Just read the entire thread from start to finish...so I have to post something... 8*) ..you should be proud! I am sure you are...This thread has me pumped to start on my truck I just bought! Thanks for the thread... I swear, someone always sneaks one in before I'm finished  Thanks for the props bud :metal: I've had to feed off other members truck posts to keep me going. It's hard (espcially if you read the part where I had to drive 2 hours to work on it ) Nowhere near 100% done. I'll keep updating as I finish the interior and I still plan on sanding/staining the bedwood (nothing fancy, just soemthing to make it "prettier") and I still have to get the inner bedsides done with some bedliner (wal-mart stuff probably). AND I've been thinking REALLY HARD about a white roof.... maybe next summer when the weather is nice again. :D 72CSTC5 10-22-2006, 10:46 PM Now go buy yourself a cheap can of undercoating and spray over all of that blue overspray all over the frame and make it look 100% better. Truck is looking great. 67ChevyRedneck 10-22-2006, 11:27 PM Now go buy yourself a cheap can of undercoating and spray over all of that blue overspray all over the frame and make it look 100% better. Truck is looking great. I'm gonna leave it be for now. Might sound crazy, but I plan on a frame off in a few years. I hope to be buying a house in late '08 early '09, so haveing my own place might make things easier the next time around  Joe67 10-23-2006, 12:14 PM Looks great!! Very nice work :metal: 67arch 10-23-2006, 10:39 PM Man I can't wait to see what happens when you have your own place! That looks awesome! Thanks for the motivation on my 67, sometimes it's hard to push through some of the less fun parts, but seeing this really helps!:metal: 67ChevyRedneck 10-24-2006, 11:30 AM Man I can't wait to see what happens when you have your own place! Thanks. I have a '58 apache that needs some lovin' too ;) Its in storage at my parents house. The bed is shot, but the rear fenders, cab and front clip are in EXCELLENT shape. I replaced the doors with an "arizona" set I got at Carlisle. Don't know what I want to do with this one yet, but the poor girl will probably have to sit for at least 3 more years :( I'm thinking bright red, white bumpers, grill and top, no emblems, dropped 3" and some torque thrusts! smbrouss70 10-24-2006, 12:30 PM Looks really good! So, is it almost ready to back to Greenville, yet? I don't think I would be able to leave it behind anymore. 71SWBChevy 10-24-2006, 12:59 PM That is a sweet looking truck redneck! I would go ahead and put some paint or something on that frame overspray and drive the heck out of her, she looks so good I think it would be hard to tear it down to the frame in a couple of years, just drive the heck out of her and spend all that time on the apache! 1lowdiesel 10-31-2006, 10:06 PM yea man just read through the whole thread and now i wanna go start on mine. truck looks bad ass. ever think about dropping this one? also did you drive it yet w/ that sway bar? 67ChevyRedneck 11-01-2006, 08:06 AM yea man just read through the whole thread and now i wanna go start on mine. truck looks bad ass. ever think about dropping this one? also did you drive it yet w/ that sway bar? Thanks bud. I've put almost 20K on the truck since I bought it in '96. That doesn't sound like a lot, but she sat during winters and the first 4 years I was in college. It also sat from '04-'06 with a blown tranny. I put over 5K on it in less than a year when I drove it my last year of college (fall '03 to spring '04) and I plan on driving the hell out of it when I get it back to Greenville (hopefully the weekend of the 11th :metal: ) I'll be doing a lot of maintenance on it (oil changes, I think it needs a starter, and whatever else I need to play with under the body) and with living in an apartment complex working on a lowered truck would be even harder. I'm 5'8" and about 165 lbs and I can barely squeeze under the frame now. Plus I'm also used to my Z71 ride height and I feel like I'm in a car driving the '67. So, for now, I have no plans to lower it. IF (and thats a big IF) I ever lowered it I would probably use 2" drop spindles and a 1" rear spring with 2" blocks or something like that. The sway bar is A W E S O M E!!! Like I said, I put a lot of miles on the truck without a sway bar, I've probably put about 15 miles on it since it's "been done" and I could tell a HUGE difference. The body roll is nothing like it was before. It's still an old truck and the handling isn't "great" but it's much improved. I'm thinking about a rear bar now.... 1LoC10 11-01-2006, 02:59 PM thats coming alot nicely... good job 67ChevyRedneck 11-27-2006, 12:22 PM Uh-oh! An update! It's been a blast drivin the old beast, but there's still a lot of little things to clean up. I got the reverse lights mounted. They still need to be wired, but at least it "looks" like they are there :haha: 67ChevyRedneck 11-27-2006, 12:45 PM I also FINALLY got the fuel tank properly vented. I was going to run the vent line to under the hood, but that kinda scared me with a hot engine, so I decided that I would run it up the stake pocket in the bed. I used a motorcycle vent that JohnFabris suggested I use. It's supposed to only suck in and not let anything out, but I didn't trust that, so I mounted it in the stake pocket so it would be higher than the fuel level in the tank and possibly in the filler neck and added about 6" (just to be safe.) It's shaped like a hat so water should never get in the tank. I still need to add a bunch of hose clamps and a better hold down for the line, but at least I can put more than 1/4 tank of gas in the truck now. 67ChevyRedneck 11-27-2006, 12:49 PM You can't really see it, but it's inside the stake pocket and here's the routing under the bed... I still have to clean up my wiring mess :( It works well, I drove about 20 miles on the interstate and it never missed a beat from not enough fuel. bgangsta999 11-27-2006, 01:59 PM I'm not big on stepsides but your truck looks really clean and classy! Nice work:cool: Sam59 01-14-2007, 02:00 PM Thanks. If you just want to get some wood in there temporarily, instead of buying the whole kit just get a piece of oak plywood and the strips, drill your holes, laquer her up and it looks the same for cheap  67ChevyRedneck 01-24-2007, 04:42 PM If you just want to get some wood in there temporarily, instead of buying the whole kit just get a piece of oak plywood and the strips, drill your holes, laquer her up and it looks the same for cheap  Thanks for the tip, but by the bed being shot I was referring to the bedsides. The Angle strips are seperating (from rust and rust holes) from the bedside. I think they hauled compost or something with the truck because other than the bedsides, the truck is in great shape. Also, unfortunately, my parents house is 725 miles from me  And I currently still live in a damned apartment (they frown upon, and tow away!, non-running, non-tagged vehicles.) She'll get the attention she needs in a few years :( rophle1 01-26-2007, 04:26 PM Great work with everything. Your 2 hour drive is a lot better than my 5 hour drive I have to do to work on mine. I live in Athens, GA and have to drive to South Alabama while I'm working on the motor (bored 396 to 402) and transmission (rebuilt TH400). Should have it driveable in the next few weekends so I can get it home and start my body work. I noticed you girlfriend/wife (can't remember which and thread is too long to look it up) is a grad student at UGA. Mine (wife) is as well and I'm also counting on her PhD. to bring in some money for my toys. We can always wish, right? Keep up the good work, and I hope to have a similar thread in the near future. Primer69er 02-17-2007, 01:38 PM just read the whole thread, took around an hour, but well worth it, im bookmarking this for when i start my project. my one question is, i have 6 lug ralleys, but was told i couldnt get the corvette centers because they dont fit 6 lugs, so where did you get yours?? hvychve 02-17-2007, 03:42 PM veery entertainning thread, had a few laughs at some of your comments and enjoyed watching it come together, very well done. 67ChevyRedneck 02-19-2007, 02:37 PM just read the whole thread, took around an hour, but well worth it, im bookmarking this for when i start my project. my one question is, i have 6 lug ralleys, but was told i couldnt get the corvette centers because they dont fit 6 lugs, so where did you get yours?? I got them from this guy. I got the whole thing as a package. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-CORVETTE-VETTE-CAPRICE-TRUCK-RALLY-WHEELS-RIMS-15_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43955QQihZ010QQitemZ200079182228QQrdZ1 The centers are plastic and the rings aren't of great quality. They are good for a DD, but not a show truck. Although you could buy the rims and add "the good" rings and center caps. Wheel vintique also sells the corvette style rallys with 6 lug. High quality stuff (so I've been told) but also has a high price tag. I don't see why they would be different, the only thing different between a 5 and 6 lug rim is the number of lugs.... I don't think they changed anything else on them? 67ChevyRedneck 02-19-2007, 02:40 PM veery entertainning thread, had a few laughs at some of your comments and enjoyed watching it come together, very well done. Thanks :D I was trying to be humorous most of the time, I'm glad someone finally picked up on it  Critter 02-19-2007, 03:38 PM Also, unfortunately, my parents house is 725 miles from me  725 miles to get there / 2 hours drive = 362.5 mph!!! HOLY CR@P! Sounds like that Z71 has a little something extra under the hood! :metal: Kidding, I guess you were exagerating. Either way, I just read your build from start to finish like everyone else. Pretty impressive. Looks like the gas tank/filler worked out nice. I love the color. 67ChevyRedneck 02-19-2007, 03:46 PM ^ My parents live in southwest NY, where I grew up my first 18 years. I moved to SC in '99 for college and never left. My 58 apache is still in NY. After college I moved to Greenville, SC in 2004. I have an uncle in Lexington, SC (2 hours from greenville) where I did all of the work on the '67. Lexington, SC is near Columbia, SC. Palf70Step 02-19-2007, 08:29 PM He was still FLYing that Z71 though :D ;) 67ChevyRedneck 04-11-2007, 04:02 PM Well, a few steps forward and one back. The truck got rearended today :( Not bad, easy fix, just disappointing, the truck isn't even 100% done  http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=235788 67ChevyRedneck 04-11-2007, 04:07 PM Anyway, I was able to get one door painted on the inside and the door jam when we had a warm streak in January. The weather has NOT cooperated the past 3 weekends and this coming weekend looks to be no different. I hope to get the PS painted within a month or so  I tossed the door panel on for "looks." I didn't use my new clips yet so I wouldn't ruin them. It's only held on by the door and window regulators and the armrest screws. I plan on dying them medium blue with white in the middle. The speaker kick panels will be white as well. I positioned the kick panels the best I could and got them installed. They look OK. The fit COULD have been MUCH better. The stereo sounds really good now with the front speakers and the small boxes behind the seat. After a few months my used S-10 door seals are finally almost soft enough to close the door without killing it! The glovebox door will be textured black with silver around the edge and I have the "custom" emblem with the bowtie on it. I don't care if it didn't come with my truck, I think it looks cool  I have some white face gauges to match the sunpro gauges too. I also spent almost all of last saturday putting the new ACC carpet in. I think it looks great. I need to get some Chevy mats to keep mud off of it now. It's getting there. All that's left is to respray the dash and PS door (spray can) dye the door panels, and spray line the bed. COME ONE WARM WEATHER! (It's 49 today :( ) edit: I have a lot more to do than I originally thought... 67ChevyRedneck 04-11-2007, 04:11 PM I also installed some new seatbelts. Didn't take a pic of them. They're charcoal grey. They look nice in the truck and work well. They got tested today  I love 3 point seatbelts! :metal: 67ChevyRedneck 07-25-2007, 08:15 AM BUMP, so it can get moved to the new forum :metal: Maybe I should update this too... Palf70Step 07-25-2007, 05:54 PM I did my job, hope you put that check in the mail ;) 67ChevyRedneck 07-26-2007, 02:00 PM Riiiight... I'll get right on that.... :D Gray Ghost 09-10-2007, 12:06 AM Great build thread! I love the color you chose...much like what I want for both my trucks. jablack 12-21-2007, 10:48 AM Looks great man. I only have to drive about an hour to work on mine and all I've done is swap my 3/4 ton down to a 1/2 ton with 5 lugs. I've got my 40/20/40 02 avalanche seats in and I'm about to get the tilt column in. Oh, I did get my hood sanded and primed... Richard8971 12-22-2007, 07:18 PM Well, a few steps forward and one back. I have always made this a requirement in the cars I build for myself. I always leave at least one thing not finished to aviod what just happened to you. I have always believed that once you are finished with a project, you are truly finished. BOOM! Personally I think that a force is telling you to change something, and at this point I believe it is your rear bumper. Maybe the 67-72 truck gods noticed a flaw in your rear bumper and this is thier way of telling you that you needed to change it... who knows??? All kidding aside, yuck, that sucks. (I look at accidents differently than most people, I see money where they see headache. :waah:) I love the truck and the color is a perfect match. I hope to see more more pics of it as you finish the details. Someday maybe our trucks will be sitting side by side in a car show and I would hate for mine to be outshown by such a beautiful truck! ;) BTW, I love your blue interior, esp the carpet. That is a color that is VERY hard to bring together correctly for the interior. (kind of like red... yuck, I can't stand red interior, no matter what the outside looks like. Might as well put in orange carpet and paint the truck bright green.... (shudder)) Most would have opted for grey or black interior. Love it. Later, D Ol'Rover 12-25-2007, 06:36 AM are those reproduction rims? or origionals? I want a sert of those for my C10! Nice pick on the paint aswell! 67ChevyRedneck 12-25-2007, 07:50 AM Oh geeze....
