Thought I'd take the plunge and introduce myself, as I just picked up my new 68 C10 last Saturday. Forum member 1969K10 drove me out to Baltimore to pick it up...talk about a road trip!
It has a bit more rust than I was expecting, but the motor is by far better than what I had hoped for. I'm currently planning on driving it as my second vehicle and fixing it up at the same time.
If I manage to do this right, there will be a picture of 1969K10's truck hooked up to mine before the trip home, and a picture of my truck at home in Indiana. If I do this wrong, there will be either a red 'x' or a broken link! :)

Thanks for the friendly welcome! I'm in NW Indiana close to Lafayette. (Oh, and I'm a lady, not a guy) :)

Thanks for the compliments on the truck, I have to say I'm really happy with it. We drove 10 hours one way to pick it up, and I had bought it based only on a few pictures. I was a nervous wreck the whole was out there. The passenger door needs replaced along with the rocker panels and 1 cab corner.
The guy I bought it from rebuilt the whole rear suspension and replaced the headers/intake/carb, so it runs and drives great! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

Funny story for my very first drive around town...
I took the truck up to the license branch today to get plates, and the lady working went to verify the VIN and was peeking thru the windshield. I polietly told her it was on the inside of the door but she didn't beleive me. She thought I had physically moved the VIN from the windshield and mounted it on the door and refused to verify the number. I ended up having to drive to the nearest State Police Post and have them fill out paperwork for me so I could get plates. Ok, so it wasn't really funny this afternoon, but I can laugh now that it's done and over!

Welcome from Indy!!!

Must have been a cool sight coming down the highway. I used my '71K20 to haul my wrecked '90 2500 home last spring. Got some interesting looks...

Welcome from West Tennessee. Glad your sight unseen turned out good. I have done it with both good and bad results. Now that I have a trailer it is better. I sold my tow bar and accessories by the pound about 15 years ago after one such trip. Good luck with your project.
