My parents are having problems getting into internet explorer. It keep coming up with internet expolrer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. We have tried a system restore and that didn't work. Any help would be much appreciated.

go to microsoft.com and download ie 6 again or cnet.com and reinstall it

It reaaaaally helps if you say what version of Windows you're running and what service pack (SP1/SP2/SP3/etc.) you are running when posting requests for help like this.

Meanwhile, it is a good idea to find out WHY in the world IE died - are they infected with something? Almost every computer I help people fix has or had some kind of infection, and, more often than not, they're saturated with at least a half dozen infections .... and that is mostly bad stuff that aren't viruses.

We have tried reinstalling IE 6 and that doesn't fix it either.
