On our home computer when my wife logs on she can not get the quotes to work. When she hits shift ', she gets a capital E with a accent over it.

This happens in Internet Exployer, Microsoft Word, and email.

The computer is running Windows XP.

I have checked and her language is set to English Canada, as is my log on and I do not have a problem.

do you see hte "language bar" or language item down in the task bar next to the clock? it's normally a blue square with two letters in it.

Yes and it is set to English (Canada).

When you go into the Control Panel and choose "Regional and Language Options", I would check your Country there, then the Location at the bottom, then dork around in the Advanced tab and compare it to yours.

Finally, thank you.

Regional and language setting, then the language tab, followed by the details button and guess what, there are two settings for Canada.

It was set to Multilingual!
