I ordered one of these this morning:

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200304845_200304845&issearch=55418

This should work great as a paint booth. I wish it was a little wider (only 10'), but I think I can make some extensions to put in the end bars to make it another 4 foot wider for painting. I can cover the whole thing in clear plastic so light gets through, especially through the roof, since I have a butt load of flouresent lights in the ceiling of my shop. Then for parties or whatever, I can take the extensions out and use the top cover that came with it. I also ordered the 3-sided cover kit for it. When not in use at all, I can break it down and store it in the attic of the shop.

Not bad for $90! I priced out all the fittings to attach the corners from a party supply place, and it would cost the same for the fittings (for 1" conduit) as this whole thing cost! Plus, it would only be 1", where this one is 1-3/8".

Just an idea.....

What material are the supports? I was planning on running 1 1/2 PVC to skeleton one

1-3/8" galvanized tube. It is made for outdoor use, which is where it will probably be when not in use as an indoor paintbooth.

thats what i used when i bedlined trucks during highschool (before access to shop) it would take only ten minutes to set it up. mine had the sides on it though. i would put a fan pointing away from the truck pulling air from the front to rear. worked great. mine was the same cheap kind and its still up at a buddies house over his boat, i didnt expect it to last this long actually.

My buddy got his at Sams club for $199 and it came with the sides included. Pretty nice canopy for the money and a great idea for a quick paint booth.

This one has the sides available for $69, but I didn't get them. Maybe later after it's use as a paint booth is over.
