I am considering painting my truck flat black. Do you put a clear coat over flat black? I read here about matte clear coats. Would that be it, or can you just spray on an enemel flat black and be done? Thanks.

You could go with a single-stage paint to get the flat look, or a two-stage (basecoat and clearcoat) to do the same effect. It's more a matter of your painting ability, products you want to use and $$$ than anything else :)
