Fine for welding sheet metal, but not for welding frames. I wouldn't touch a frame with anything less than my Miller 210 mig. A good welder to get the penatration needed on material thickness like frames and 4-link brackets will run about $1000 and up for a new one. revn67 04-14-2006, 01:28 AM a miller 175 would be fine for frame welding.......it'll cost you around $960! a 210 is pretty bulky compared to a 175 if your worried about space in your garage too AesC10s 04-14-2006, 02:13 AM i jus bought a millermatic 210 for frame work and i love it, it great. nvrforgotten52 04-14-2006, 02:27 AM haha, i bought like a 100 amp wire feed welder from kragens for less than 100 bucks :metal: haha, works great for all my sheetmetal needs and it hasnt broke! and ive had it for almost a year and a half and ive used it quite a bit. maybe i just got lucky... haha gmcracing92 04-17-2006, 11:57 AM for what you need, the millermatic 175 would be perfect. its just a little big bigger than the 135 which would have worked with just the sheetmetal. its better to go with a bigger welder even though the 135 says itll weld 3/16. it will weld 3/16 but the machine will be cranked to the max and if you weld like that a lot, you will likely burn out the the wire feeder and mayeb even the whole machine. |
