The 4.3 V6 in my '94 GMC is getting a little tired (215,000 miles). I'm wanting to swap the 6 for a Fuel Injected 350. What are my options and what would be the best route to go. The Tranny has less than 25,000 miles on it and was rebuilt with a V8 in mind. If I go with the TBI 350, I'm assuming most everything is plug and play. How much harder would it be to swap to the Vortec 350 from the '96-up trucks? Thanks for the help.
You csn swap the motor for a TBI 350 and only change chip in computer. Going to a vortec would require a wiring harness swap, and complete computer swap. I did a 4.3 to 5.7 in an S10, and it worked perfect after swapping chip. I used same wiring and plumbing. Worked great, much luck to ya... Oh yeah the stock chip worked fine on a GMPP 350 330HP, I had to get a 4bbl intake to fit the vortec heads then a 4bbl to TBI adapter made by holley.. Hope this helps...

Is the V6 Throttle Body the same as the V8 or should it be upgraded too? I'm believe I found a complete '93 TBI engine with Throttle Body, Accessories, and Computer.
