Putter 04-20-2006, 01:35 PM Oh, well didn't that get your attention?!?!?!
Well, with just over a week to go, I thought I would remind everyone about the Board Cookout at Chickenwing's house. (COOKOUT IS MAY 6, 2006)
We already know this is the same weekend as Maggie Valley.....and Blue Suede Cruise...but you can stop in for a minute or two, right? It's an all-day shindig!
I hear that a slew of Big Name companies are going to be present for the activities....(including - but not limited to: Polk Audio, Putter's Custom Concepts, Southwest Airlines & Delta Airlines)...and after the drawing, someone will walk away with a brand new delay wiper kit just for attending.
Stop by and join the fun, have a bite to eat, shoot the crap, swap some parts....whatever.
(towels provided upon request to wipe off the BS!)
Getting there couldn't be easier....
We will PM you directions to fit your route perfectly...just ask.
We hope to see everyone there!!!
OH, almost forgot, bring your whole family....children and all!!!
GMan69 04-20-2006, 03:26 PM   The Mrs. and I will be there. Lookin' forward to it.
LUV2XCLR8 04-20-2006, 03:45 PM   The Mrs. and I will be there. Lookin' forward to it.
George, You are not going to MV
I wanted to come, but that weekend is booked :(
Longhorn Man 04-20-2006, 03:47 PM location location. :(

Putter 04-20-2006, 04:05 PM Great. And Joker, Bill, and Subtle have made their intentions known...let's see if they chime in!
Longhorn Man 04-20-2006, 04:07 PM I ment, it's too far from Ohio for me to attend. :whine:
Putter 04-20-2006, 04:08 PM George, You are not going to MV
I wanted to come, but that weekend is booked :(
Hey, Maggie Valley will make you pay for lunch....and we are GIVING that stuff away!!!
meathead95 04-20-2006, 04:40 PM man i would love to come but i already have reservations at maggie valley
Palf70Step 04-20-2006, 05:32 PM I will be there and most liekly the boss and son will be there also. Go ahead and pack up my wiper kit Putter ;)
Your trying to claim my kit. I decided that I could burn one more vacation day, so I'll be there.
thejoker 04-20-2006, 09:54 PM Great Krue! Like I said I'll be coming up Friday early in hopes that Putter or George will be free for some parts scavenging. Let me know guys and of course it's not limited to those two, anyone interested can come too!
JKR
chickenwing 04-21-2006, 12:45 AM location location. :(
I offered a ticket on another thread. Pretty sure we still fly to CMH. Do ya really wanna come?
Maggie Valley without George and Bill? I'm not sure I want to attend now.
I guess I'll have to go since I've paid for a room. No Bill and George at MV will be disappointing. Well, look at the positive-At least I can eat a lot of food on Saturday night without fear of pics floating around on the internet.
You guys have fun and somebodyelse in the fall have another one of these so I can come.
Bryan
Putter 04-21-2006, 12:46 PM Now we are getting somewhere.....and the odds of winning a wiper kit are still great due to the fact that GMan, Chickenwing and I already have one each and Subtle doesn't even HAVE wipers (so we may not even be included int eh drawing!)
Bill, if you want to remind KrazyTexan, I would appreciate it.
72armyswbtruck 04-21-2006, 01:38 PM Man and I am all the way over here in Idaho
Putter 04-21-2006, 03:12 PM Chickenwing has offered a FREE flight to anyone with access to Southwest Airlines (and the fewer stopoffs the better).
Hit him up!!!
And he is not kidding...he offered it to a couple board members, but turns out they can not make it for one reason or another, so now it is up for grabs!!!
Now I really feel like crap. I would definitely take the ticket out of Nashville.
One more thing and not to take away from the cookout, but I thought that Dean was coming to MV?
chickenwing 04-21-2006, 06:35 PM Man and I am all the way over here in Idaho
Anywhere near Boise?
GMan69 04-21-2006, 06:50 PM I ment, it's too far from Ohio for me to attend. :whine:
Hey Chickenwing. Offer the ticket to Lytleredridinghood. If she accepts, Andy will be here in a heartbeat. :)
LUV and Yellow69. Honestly, I was looking forward to MV, however I had no idea that Donna would be hospitalized so long. She is doing MUCH better, but still not up to a trip that long.
chickenwing 04-21-2006, 07:00 PM Offer is open. Just gotta be a board member.
Hey George. Havent heard from ya. Guess that is kinda my fault too. You AND Ms. Donna comin over?
GMan69 04-21-2006, 07:29 PM We'll be there. :metal:
George, Hope Donna is doing fine and my prayers are with you guys. The Nationals won't be the same this year.
Longhorn Man 04-21-2006, 10:27 PM I offered a ticket on another thread. Pretty sure we still fly to CMH. Do ya really wanna come?
You do fly to CMH, i was on one a week ago.
When i read that, i jumped out of my seat and looked at the calendar..... it's on a saturday. :whine:
I work 10 - 16 hrs on saturdays. :(
I'd be all over it if I could.
I hope to meet at least 3 new board members this year.
GMan69 04-21-2006, 10:32 PM Bryan, it's been over 20 years since my last visit to MV. We were going to rent a cabin for like a week and just goof off. We'll just have to do it next year.
Hart_Rod 04-22-2006, 08:21 AM Count me in. Not sure what I'm driving or who I'm bringing.
chickenwing 04-22-2006, 01:38 PM I do have a board merchandise prize for farthest traveled.
Palf70Step 04-22-2006, 05:32 PM Is that as the bird flies or actual miles. I can always let my wife drive/navigate and we'll be at least 700-800 miles getting there ;)
Palf70Step 04-22-2006, 06:04 PM Count me in. Not sure what I'm driving or who I'm bringing.
Make sure you can carry long stuff. I'll haul your stuff up with me to the "wings"
Hart_Rod 04-22-2006, 07:07 PM Make sure you can carry long stuff. I'll haul your stuff up with me to the "wings"
If I have to strap it to the hood, it's coming home with me.:)

Since we gotta stick together... I won't tell her ya said that.
subtle71 04-23-2006, 01:12 AM Count the "fat kid" in! I was planning on hitting Blue Suede Cruise up in Tupelo that weekend, but that starts on Friday. I can do that then and head back Friday evening or Saturday morning. I would hate not taking advantage of the opportunity to see everyone/ meet new folks. (Plus, as Putter mentioned, I am bringing goodies to give away! I found a couple pairs of speakers laying around-lol.)
Chickenwing, can you pm me your address so I can map it out from Brookhaven?
In case nobody has mentioned it yet, the Byram cruise-in is that afternoon/evening.
Dean
billtoothaker 04-23-2006, 06:05 AM I take itthis is around Jackson, Mississippi?
Palf70Step 04-23-2006, 08:06 AM I take itthis is around Jackson, Mississippi?
Yep....Come one down. Just set the cruis for fast and no problems
billtoothaker 04-23-2006, 10:16 AM Kinda a long cruise, I will have to wait till one is closer. Looking forward to meeting some other entusiasts
FRENCHBLUE72 04-23-2006, 04:06 PM Should be a great party as chicken wing is a hellva guy met at scotts house last year for reno..
GMan69 04-23-2006, 05:09 PM Dean,
Donna and I are going to the Blue Suede Cruise. We'll go up Thursday and return sometime Friday. We'll look for you.
JAKES 68GMC 04-23-2006, 09:48 PM I hope Putter doesn't go around flashing his tattoo to everyone at the cookout. That wouldn't be good.
(hopefully someone knows/remembers what I'm talking about)
Longhorn Man 04-23-2006, 10:22 PM Yeah, but he's sure to have a cow bell to annoy everyone. :D
Naah, he won't have a cowbell, it means something totally different here in the Magnolia State. (College rivalry thing).
subtle71 04-24-2006, 10:26 AM Krue, Should I break out my Bully Bell? It can ride shotgun with me to the get together.
Dean
Putter 04-24-2006, 10:55 AM Hey, if everyone has parts around the shed, bring those too.
We can have a mini-swapmeet. I have a truck-and-a-half about 5 miles from Chickenwing's...where the new house is going.
And there will be NO COWBELL. Can't give Krue the satisfaction of thinking I changed sides!!!
Dean, will those speakers fit my 'aquired' kick panels????
Putter 04-24-2006, 11:06 AM Here are a few things that we have...and a few things that we might need. (Since everyone I have spoken to asks..."What can I bring?"
No cookout can ever have too many ice-chests with ice.
And we can always use a spare grill (gas or charcoal...doesn't matter to us)
If you or your family members drink/eat anything out of the ordinary for medical reasons or similar issues, please feel free to bring it.
We have a good assortment and variety, but 'special' items might want to ride with you.
- Right now, we have paper goods covered (plates, bowls, spoons, forks, etc...)
- Plenty of bottled water is arranged (many wives prefer water for some reason)
- Normal drinks are coming (Coke, Pepsi, etc...) but we can always use more.
- We have SEVERAL slabs of ribs arranged, but if you want to bring other meats, feel free. (As far as I know, we will have a couple grills on site if we need to cook something from scratch)
- Feel free to bring assorted sides (chips, dips, veggies, etc...)
- Oh, don't forget the desserts (We like cake, pie, puddings....)
The junkyard is open from 10:00 until noon, if anyone is interested. This is the yard with modern stuff. The yard with our era parts is only open on weekdays.
Palf70Step 04-24-2006, 11:09 AM Hey Putter, I got some pieces of cab you are welcome to have :) ;)
Putter 04-24-2006, 11:34 AM Uuuuuhhhh.....actually I have seen those 'pieces'.....but I don't know if "CAB" is what I would use after "PIECES OF" (hahahaha!)
Oh, and Rich has mentioned that the pool is 95% clean and ready...so feel free to bring your trunks (or at least for your kids).
Not likely to see my 'tatoo' anywhere NEAR a pool. Not too many reasons I would expose this pasty-white-ass-o-plenty!

:( :agree: :(
Putter 04-24-2006, 04:09 PM I hear George does a mean Cannon Ball!!!! Guess we will see.
Be careful....we may have a barn-raising if Chickenwing gets a notion to start the shop!
Palf70Step 04-24-2006, 04:10 PM I'll supervise :)
chickenwing 04-24-2006, 09:40 PM Putter you are definately the go-to guy for logistics! Thanks man! If y'all could bring a folding chair or two that would be great. Think I have enough outside chairs for 10.
I'll be away from a computer for the next 2 days. Keep on directing questions to Putter. He's doin good!
Putter 04-25-2006, 11:43 AM I'll be away from a computer for the next 2 days. Keep on directing questions to Putter. He's doin good!
Good...my wife was worried that Chickenwing would start to think I was trying to take over.
Just trying to be a good assistant. I have a couple of extra chairs, so I will bring those.
Looks like we will have a fairly nice turn-out. Just think what we could have done if we could have caught the Maggie Valley crowd.
Next year we will try to do more research before hand, so make plans to set aside a weekend folks.
Rich and I are already mulling over the possibility of this being an annual cookout....maybe rotating thru several different locations to keep it fresh!
Oh...BRING YOUR CAMERAS. (Not that we have to tell Krue...his is surgically attached) We can make a new thread after the cookout to disclose photos that no one knew we took!!!!
Watch out for those tatoo shots and Yank-&-GMan backsides.
thejoker 04-25-2006, 01:08 PM Hey Putter, you or GMAN gonna be available that Friday for the junkyards or do you think things will be too busy?
BTW... I got my aircraft aluminum accessory bracket for my engine today. It is so sweet. I'll put it on tonight and have some pics in a new thread in the morning. Oh yea, did I say it's sweet!

Putter 04-25-2006, 03:53 PM hey Joker. I think I can make some time for ya. Maybe after lunch. I was thinking that I would be tied up, but I had my weeks screwed up. I have different things going on this week and will be around next week...so we can plan out something.
chickenwing 04-25-2006, 04:01 PM I'm back. I have internet!!! Thanks Wild Blue! Tell her not to worry. Gotta go. Gotta work on the pool filter.
Putter 04-25-2006, 04:37 PM Oh Guru of the grill....your people welcome you home!!!!
I will holler at you later. I have to run to Puckett and pay the gravel guy.
Bit the bullet and bought 6 loads today $$$.
thejoker 04-25-2006, 04:38 PM Putter, that sounds fine. I need to drop in and visit someone and I'll do that in the morning. I'll touch base with you next week.

GMan69 04-25-2006, 05:00 PM Hey Putter, you or GMAN gonna be available that Friday for the junkyards or do you think things will be too busy?

Hey Joker, I will be on the way home from Tupelo on Friday. Donna and I are going to check out the Blue Suede Cruise. It's also our 27th anniversary, so we will probably be going out to eat somewhere that evening. Glad Putter will be able to show you around.
thejoker 04-25-2006, 05:38 PM Where and what time, GMAN?

chickenwing 04-25-2006, 07:40 PM Just had the first use of my doorbell by a guest. It was Putter! He's pretty excited about the wingding.
Looks like most angles are covered on the logistics. I personally don't have any request at the moment but if I think of any, wll post em asap.
I'd like to offer again rooms for any that need em. Got 2 private bedrooms with queen beds available and at least 1 queen air mattress. Only $100 a night for the real beds and $50 for the air mattress. (just kiddin :D)
If anyone has any questions (like where DOES Chickenwing live?) ask away.

I'll be checking next week for reminds on whcih fallen tree we turn at after the broken rock. ;)
chickenwing 04-25-2006, 10:30 PM LOL. More like wich dirt road after x junk cars past what church.
Better watch Bill, he gets confuzed by them churches.:D Paint your mailbox white, it will help him a lot. ;) Ain't that right Bill.
Palf70Step 04-26-2006, 05:18 AM Yea:rolleyes: ;):o
Putter 04-26-2006, 08:37 AM Rich doesn't have a big white 'mailbox' to look for, but maybe we can borrow the neighbor's DEEP FREEZE and set it out there! They have it out on the porch anyway!!!
thejoker 04-26-2006, 08:50 AM Got some pics of that new accessory bracket I bought. Check it out.

Putter 04-26-2006, 09:24 AM Man, that looks sweet.
Oh, and in an effort to do my part in the "invitations" department, I just sent personal PMs to over two-dozen Mississippi members that I just found with some creative searching! Even a new guy in Byram that just joined this week!
(would it be wrong to hint that I deserve some green points for all this work???)
thejoker 04-26-2006, 01:56 PM Yea. Thanks. I can't wait to fire her up!
I'm hoping this will give me the incentive to hurry up on the truck work!

Putter,
Since I will be working the north part of the state and going to Blue Suede Cruise, I will drag my '71 around behind my work truck. I will be sure to throw the 150qt. ice chest and some chairs in the back as well. I'll have one of our EZup tents in the back too, if we need some extra shade. Plus, since I will be in the work truck, tunes will not be a problem if we need a little mood music.
PM me Chickenwing's addy and directions when you get a chance.
