i have been trying to get my blower motor to work lately and cant get it to turn on. i put jumper cables to the motor and it works just fine so thats one less problem. i took the switch off and disassembled and cleaned it. what other things can i do. there are about 5 wires that attach to the swith that go all over the under dash area. i assume only one go to the accutal blower motor.

not sure what year were talking about but on my 76 under the hood you got 2 wiring connectors that go to blower moter, one is a single wire, the other is a group of wires.the group of wires go to the motor speed relay (i call it).it's held in with two little bolts, just unbolt it and pull it out, thats what was wrong with mine anyhow.:)

its a 72 cheyenne. what/where is that motor speed relay? on the witch on the dash there are blue, brown, yellow wires that come off of it. but i only see one wire that connects to the acutal motor under the hood (it has a little rubber boot on it).

if it is a non A/C truck, look under the dash on the passenger side under the glove box floor.... pretty much need to remove the box liner.
On an A/C truck... I think it's under the hood in the heater box.

mine has AC. i looks nearly impossible to get that heater box off from under the hood. is there any way that i could just run a new wire frim the blower motor to the switch?

where is that located? do you think that that could be where the malfunction is?

Did you check the switch with an Ohm meter to insure that it works.Could be that simple.
