I bought some Accel 8.8 spark plug wires at a car show. I run HEI on my 74 GMC. I have a feeling the wires are for a points distributor. Does accel make 8.8 spark plug wires for points?? if they do how will it affect your engine if you put them on a HEI system??

HEI plug wires won't fit on a points cap.... same goes for the other way around.
So if they'll properly plug into your cap... you're good to go.

HEI uses female ends at both ends, Points use a male end at dist side.

i think you should be able to buy the ends from summit or jegs

If your running headers use Accel 7071. They'll hold up to the heat, my only problem with them is they only come in yellow.
