Has anyone taken out the computer and changed their 88-98 from tbi to a carb application. I was curious if this would be worthwhile or if its just a waste of time. Is it hard to just switch to mpfi say off of a camaro, do you have to do a lot of changing when it comes to the plugins.

I will let you know---I just got back home from Street & Performance in Mena, Arkansas; getting a TPI setup pieces for my 91 Silverado. I am going to put in a 90 Corvette motor with the TPI and it will go in and actually use "BOTH" computers. The one that came with the TPI for the motor and the other to manage the speedo and things like that. I got into this setup without a lot of cost and it will be easy. I hope.

oh ok, is is pretty costly to do it that way, i know i saw on ebay complete corvette motors with wireing harness and computer for like 7K, would be cool but expensive.

If you buy the whole setup from a supplier, IT can be expensive. A salvage yard is another outstanding place to get a TPI or MPI setup. I got my TPI through a purchase of my project truck (1968 Chevy C-10). I decided that I wanted another style motor in it and the TPI is going into my daily driver, since it has 195,000 on it's present motor.
With the price of fuel going out the door, the fuel injection is the more popular way to get the mileage up. My TBI in my silverado gets about 20 MPG on the highway and it is OK, but it is a little lacking in HP. The TPI that I have is worth twice the HP and should get the same or better in fuel economy.
