View Full Version : Northwest Truck Meeting-May 20th
stllookn 05-03-2006, 06:41 PM The Monroe Swap meet would be a good place for a get-together for all those attending the meet. Truck Shop will be there...great prices. WES usually sets up a booth and Frank usually beats everyone to the really good deals...so what else is new...LOL! I set up a barbeque last year in Lazyguard's booth and we had a great time. Free beer, burgers and brats until they run out.
Bob Moore 05-04-2006, 03:06 PM Yea! Party time! Hope the weather is as nice as last time. Where will it be located? I remember LG was outside at the end of BIG building by the vender road. Same place? Time?
You posted the reminder but no details.LOL
I will donate to the food and social fund rather than buy from the food vendors. Hope to get some good deals before Frank shows up. HaHa. That is impossible. He finds all the good deals. JK Frank.
Party on Garth.
stllookn 05-04-2006, 05:42 PM Bob, May 20, 8-5 and May 21, 8-2. We will have to decide based upon weather and feedback from those that want to attend.
67sss 05-09-2006, 01:23 AM Put me down for sat-20th, I haven't been in a year or so!
oldiron 05-16-2006, 08:21 PM The wife and I will be there on Sat.
so are we meeting at darrells spot or what???? i wonder how many nw members even come to this part of the board...
...im going on saturday...somehow i have to beat mike to the 15x8 6 lug plain steel wheels...=)
stllookn 05-17-2006, 10:05 PM OK guys!!!!!!!! I have been talking this meet up so much that I now have a houseful of guests from Oregon coming up for it. NO VACANCY and the wife is pi55ed since she has to entertain while I am looking for parts.
I think we should try to get together at the meet. I say about 2:00PM by the huge TRUCK SHOP trailer...wherever they are this year...usually the north end by the stadium.
I am looking for 9.75 x 16.5 wheels...PM for the style so Frank or Bob Moore don't beat me to them!
Mark, Darrell won't be there this spring...DANG! I don't know where else to post without multiple posts! There are so many places to look on the board. We should post on Thursday in the '67-'72 message board to get the new members that still don't know their way around.
stllookn 05-18-2006, 09:09 AM Truck Shop will not be at the Monroe meet...I just checked their schedule. We could meet at the North gate since that is a convenient place.
Mark...thanks for the heads up on the wheels...I have been so busy I forgot that I was looking for a set of those as well...LOL! The race is on and you have a head start since you live so close.
oldiron 05-18-2006, 08:24 PM You are confusing me Mike:
I think we should not try to get together at the meet. I say about 2:00PM by the huge TRUCK SHOP trailer...wherever they are this year...usually the north end by the stadium.
Do you really mean we should NOT try??????
stllookn 05-19-2006, 01:26 AM I confuse myself! North end by the stadium...across from the North gate at 2:00PM. Where Truck Shop used to be...for those like oldiron that know!
i will be there for sure rain or shine, i almost forgot i have to pick up some parts from wes. dunno if i will still be around at 2 though.
Americanrider 05-20-2006, 11:43 PM You guys make lousy Boy-scouts...Did you lose your compasses or what?
There was no such thing as a NORTH GATE.
Only East (RED) GATE and West (BLUE) GATE according to the signs. I looked for a fire truck rolling in to the Kirby-Cookout but they didn't show either... musta had a lid on it?
I was at the Blue gate from 1:45 till about 2:10, then I came back at 2:15 and didn't find anyone I recognized. Anyway... I saw Frank's truck in the second row, walked all over a found a deal or two. Chatted with Bill about his parts pile and got to meet Wes & crew. I have a sore neck from looking at the ground all day, sore legs from walking.... But I had a good time anyway. Did anyone make a good parts score?
stllookn 05-21-2006, 03:45 AM I met up with oldiron twice...and was there all day long. I missed CARS4567, you and Frank. I saw Bill, PICKMUP's buddy and that was it!!!!! oldiron and I were at the North gate (opposite from where we were last year) from 1:50 until 2:15. Dang...we need a more specific meeting place.
No great deals...dang!
Bob Moore 05-21-2006, 10:46 AM I am so upset. My health kept me away this time. Did anybody find a good deal? Somebody must have found wsomething.
Keep me posted - Bob
i saw no deals, and didnt pick up anything except a few car mags from the 50's and 60's...oh wait i also bought a real nice wire crimper and bumped into frank at that booth. i went back today to grab some work gloves from a buddy of mine that sells there but he was already gone.
stllookn 05-22-2006, 12:37 AM I heard some guys got great deals on "hard to find" items but I was not so lucky. Got my lug nuts and washers for my Ansen slots (much cheaper than ebay) and set of stainless steel 454 exhaust manifolds for $75. Those were not on my shopping list but they were badly needed just the same. It was fun just the same. I only saw oldiron, Wes, and PICKMUP's buddy but no PICKMUP!
Americanrider 05-23-2006, 02:01 AM $20 in gas and $10 for each of these hunks of steel.... I'm not sure what the upright set came from but they look cool. I may mount them top side of the winch bumper I'm planning. With that curl they will look like boar tusks...lol
Now watch the die-hard collectors freak as I use them to really tow with:eek:
I could not find one thing to fit a 6 cly GM motor... just old furd crap. Was looking for an intake, headers & PS setup for a 250.
stllookn 05-23-2006, 07:53 PM Ben...WOW...a set of hooks for $20? That was a smoking deal!
Americanrider 05-24-2006, 01:30 AM No, 10 for EACH SET.
