i am thinking about buying a 90 swb chevy 350, auto, needs alot of work, and when you turn the lights on they get dim and make the gauges go down, what do you think it is, i think it is a ground strap, but where would it be

If the engine is running when the lights & gauges go dim, the alternator is prolly bad.
