View Full Version : Bios won't load

Dell not helping. My computer worked fine this morning and then i try to start it up and it just got stuck on the BIOS mid way.

It says call dell but they are not helping.

It says something about checkpoint [Ithr] anyone have a idea what this means.

hahaha WOW is all i got to say to that

Dell told me i needed a hardrive, another guy said i needed a mother board. I goggled the problem this morning and read 2 message boards. Both talk about a USB being the problem. I found out someone connected the cable modem to the USB while it already is connected to the ethernet card. my brother was having internet problem and he thought that was it.


go fig.

i gave him a talk about it.

Dells seem to be finicky right now if I plug my usb wireless adaptor in the back slots it freezes up on bootbut in the front its ok, and if I move the pc and dont plug the usb's in the same exact ports it freezes up... they tell me there will be a bios fix by month end...:lol: shoulda bought another sony...

i have the same problem with my laptop at work - if I have a USB hard drive attached to the docking station, the laptop will not boot up. it gets stuck halfway through the BIOS POST.
