I am looking for some insight if anyone has some on this.
I found these headers online and am wondering if they fit? They claim to be for 67-81 camaro, 68-67 chevelle 68-79 Nova pretty much all the cars Where clearance is an issue. Has anyone ever used headers made for these cars on a 70-72 suburban? I have called several shops and no one knows. I currently have set but the collector sits right against the frame, and doesnt look like a shop has enough room to weld on to the collector. So im looking at trying a different set. here are some pics of the headers in question,Thanks for any info anyone can give! The picture on the bottom is The headers I currently have.

Guys use them.I believe the right side crowds the frame. Some have had to notch a bit, nothing much, though.

Doug Thorley makes a Tri-Y set, but I am not too sure how low they go in relation to the frame rails...

Early Classic Enterprises sells a Shorty set that looks a lot like the ones in the top pics of your original post, these should fit the best too, I would ASS-U-ME...they are designed for this year of truck anyway..

Let us all know what you decide, and post some pics!

Thanks for the info so far, I think I'm keeping the headers I have . Which is the last picture on the set. I really like the headers and If I notch the frame at tad' we bit and have a tight 90 degree bend right after the collector I should clear the cross member and be ok. I will try to post some pics of mock up tomorrow on the old motor which I sould have pulled by friday, and have my new motor in the week after.

Well here are a few pics I said I would post. I decided to keep the ones I have. After I mocked them up on the old motor I think if a shop can drop a tight 90 degree 2 1/2" bend right off the collector It will work fine. I Will need to notch the frame Just a little on both sides aswell. The first pic are of the headers i'm keeping mocked up on the old motor. The others are of the motor I'm dropping in hopefully next week if I have time.:metal: :metal:
