GMC71k20 05-13-2006, 06:54 PM looks awesome, are they mickey thompsons? LUV2XCLR8 05-13-2006, 06:56 PM :bling: :bling: :bling: makovai 05-13-2006, 09:02 PM that trruck is killer. does it look as good on the inside too? hotrodhomi 05-13-2006, 09:22 PM I like the trim. jakeslim 05-13-2006, 10:18 PM is that the black or wood trim? although the wood is proper to mine, i'm not sure I want to install it. I may go with black. Yours looks killer:metal: yote1234 05-13-2006, 10:28 PM wow...two thumbs up....i like! Medicanman71 05-13-2006, 10:44 PM talk about two thumbs up! That's killer. What size lift do you have? How much ca$h have you put into your paint (i don't blame you if you don't feel comfortable saying). Very nice. 71RestoRod 05-14-2006, 12:28 AM Awesome job. Looks great. :metal: Yukon Jack 05-14-2006, 09:29 AM You gotta get some outside shots! Looks great from here! vtblazer 05-14-2006, 10:43 AM We want more! Pull it out side and give us the full view, inside and out. (please) Blazers wear the orange really well, very sharp ride. 72CSTC5 05-14-2006, 10:43 AM That is gorgeous. Now go drive it!!!!!!!!! orange72blazer 05-14-2006, 11:35 AM GMC71k20- The tires are Goodyear MTR's, the rims are Mickey Thompson. makovai- I'm still working on the inside, basically I just need new carpet, the seats are out of a 1997 suburban they look and fit great. jakeslim- The trim is woodgrain, everyone that has seen the blazer in person thinks it looks a lot better with the trim on (only one side is done right now) Medicanman71- 4" tuff country springs in the front with ORD shackels and geaseable bushings. 4" block with an add a leaf in the rear and a 3" body lift. As far as the paint goes it's just a garage painted base coat clear coat paint job. I didn't want something so nice that I'd be afraid to drive it. Yukon Jack & vtblazer- It been raining here for the last week and dosen't look like it's going to end anytime soon, but when it does I'll back it out and get some pics. 72CSTC5- Don't worry, as soon as it gets warm and sunny I plan on driving it all over the place. Hopefully I'll even get it out to the dunes this year. bouncytruck 05-14-2006, 11:48 AM Beauty! orangeuavol 05-14-2006, 01:31 PM Awsome! yote1234 05-14-2006, 02:02 PM That is gorgeous. Now go drive it!!!!!!!!! heck,SHOW IT! RANDY COX 05-14-2006, 07:15 PM Really nice IGOR 05-15-2006, 12:27 AM Looks awesome- So does it fit under the garage door okay? That's my next Blazer project when I get my engine done - to put in an 8' garage door - Mine won't fit in the garage with the top on - it just clears with no rollbar & top off... blazerparts 05-15-2006, 10:09 AM very nice! krue 05-15-2006, 01:56 PM :agree: with everything said above, especially the call for more pics!:D orange72blazer 05-16-2006, 11:16 AM Looks awesome- So does it fit under the garage door okay? That's my next Blazer project when I get my engine done - to put in an 8' garage door - Mine won't fit in the garage with the top on - it just clears with no rollbar & top off... It clears the door by about 4 inches or so. When I had my garage built, my builder told me if I put an 8' door it should clear a truck with a 6 in suspension lift and a 3 in body lift. 71jimmy 05-16-2006, 02:56 PM Very, very nice! makovai 05-16-2006, 05:41 PM It clears the door by about 4 inches or so. When I had my garage built, my builder told me if I put an 8' door it should clear a truck with a 6 in suspension lift and a 3 in body lift. I just built my garage last summer and only put a 7' door on it. It cleared my 9" with the 35's if i took the molding off the garage and let a little air out of the tires. Well now i have the 36's on it but i used 10" wheels so its almost a push, but i do have to let just a little extra air out of the tires now. BTW your rig might be the sweetest on this board, man is it sharp. Canadian694x4 05-16-2006, 08:05 PM Great Looking Blazer! Can't wait for more Pics! uncle 05-16-2006, 08:22 PM Looks awesome! Is that hugger orange? orange72blazer 05-16-2006, 09:48 PM Looks awesome! Is that hugger orange? Yes it is. vtblazer 05-17-2006, 05:29 AM Rain-rain, go away so we can get those pics!  teeitup 05-17-2006, 07:05 AM WOW that looks AWESOME!!!!!!!! orange72blazer 05-17-2006, 09:05 PM Ok, it sort of quit raining for a little bit so I quick backed the Blazer out and got a few pics for you guys. Medicanman71 05-17-2006, 09:11 PM Very fancy, looks ALMOST complete from the outside ;) orange72blazer 05-17-2006, 09:16 PM I just got done putting the trim on this side a little while ago. I just need to get the bumpers back on and do something with the steering shaft, it seems to bind now that I have a body lift on it. I'll probabally try a u-joint in place of the rag joint at the steering box to see if that helps, has any done this and did it help? And for whoever asked about clearing my garage door it clears my 8 foot door by 14 inches. Green Monster 05-17-2006, 10:37 PM Awesome rig! Some pictures of the seats, please??? Don't worry, I won't look at the carpet. My carpet looks like a toasty lawn. FRENCHBLUE72 05-18-2006, 11:21 PM Sweet blazer you have there.... the70chev 09-17-2006, 01:26 PM Please Post more Pics that looks Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! earl87gta 09-18-2006, 12:08 AM It wasn’t long after I put the 3in body lift and six suspension on mine that I started having steering joint trouble so I bought 2 flaming river joints from summit racing and a 1 ½ foot piece of double d steering rod. I think on the steering column side it was a ¾ by 32 spline with a double d on one side and on the box side it was 1in by 36 spline and a 1in round side. You can try to use the original double d shaft but if it comes out like mine did you will only have 1 to 2 in of over lap holing the shaft together. I wanted it around 4in. I don’t know how much it is suppose to collapse so you may want to measure it before you take it apart and see how much it moved in stock form. When it was done I never had any more trouble orange72blazer 09-18-2006, 01:15 AM It wasn’t long after I put the 3in body lift and six suspension on mine that I started having steering joint trouble so I bought 2 flaming river joints from summit racing and a 1 ½ foot piece of double d steering rod. When it was done I never had any more trouble I replaced the rag joints with ujoints on the steering shaft before I even thought about backing it out of the garage after puting the body lift on. I used the stock double d shaft, I had to modify it a bit but it worked out great. I'll try to get some more pics one of these days. vtblazer 09-18-2006, 05:52 AM I want one that color... What's left to do before you can go enjoy it? Any drive train mods other than the lift? Chevyman63 09-18-2006, 09:17 PM That is freekin sweet! MNorby 09-19-2006, 12:48 AM How well did those 97 seats line up? Did you have to build mounts ot just redrill? Thanks orange72blazer 09-19-2006, 12:07 PM vtblazer- I've been driving it all summer, actually the last 4 summers. I work on it in the fall, winter, spring and try to drive it as much as possible in the summer. The drivetrain is stock for now. MNorby-I used some of the factory holes & drilled new holes for the ones that didn't line up. I had to use a spacer on one hole but other than that it fit perfect. vtblazer 09-19-2006, 04:19 PM [QUOTE=orange72blazer;1808540]I've been driving it the last 4 summers.QUOTE] Good to hear. :) Southedisto 09-19-2006, 09:16 PM Sweet blazer, the color, the lift/tire combo. WOW, it all fits very nicely. |
