When i launch IE 6 or open a new window I'd prefer if it would open already maximized (full size window).

I did a google search to see if I could find instruction on how to set it up to always open a new window. What I got instead was a page full of links to a program to accomplish this called IE new window maximizer.

Surely there is a way to to set it within windows without having to download an outside program.

Does anyone if it's possible and how to do it? If all else fails, does anyone know if the afore mentioned program is safe?

Thanks for reading.

Don't bother. Drag the lower right corner until the window is maximized. Then hold down the Shift key, and while it's down, close the window. They should always open full-sized after that. I forget if you have to restart the computer, but if it doesn't work, do it again and restart.

You could also make a new shortcut for IE
Then do a right click on the icon, select Properties
When the Properties menu opens up select the Shorcut tab on the top
On the Shortcut tab next to the Run option select Maximized
Click OK to Save

This method is working so far, haven't rebooted yet though.

Thanks everyone that replied. Y'all rock! :metal:

basically, the principle is simple: only have one program window open. drag the dimensions to a large size. maximize the program window, then close it.

Windows remembers the last position of the program window. a lot of people make the mistake of trying to fix it with several of the same program windows open, but this won't work - gotta be one window.
