Has anyone used these on a TBI to really feel the results. knowing the design of these heads they SHOULD be a perfect match for TBI useage.

I know the intake needs to be changed also.

Even though i want to use my 906 vortecs on a performance engine I was just curious if anyone here actually went through the right paces to put them on a stock or lightly modified TBI engine with TBI intact- and the results are ???

I know the stock vortecs are only good for 450 lift, now I need the right parts to make mine safe for 500+ lift. I bet SDPP uses stock GM Lt4 parts ???

I had my 350 rebuilt after developing real main seal leak, and a broken valve. Had 155,000 miles at the time of re-build. Used Vortec heads, and a Comp Cam #CS252AH-12. 0.425 intake lift and 0.440 exhaust lift. J&E forged pistons were used, with a calculated compression ratio of about 9.5 to one.
Stock TBI was used after re-build, and blueprinting. Used Corvette exhaust manifolds, through dual cats and dual tips. No mufflers and not too loud (but loud enough).
Results? Well, it really woke up the engine. Better acceleration, better mileage (on primo fuel).
Top end is limited by the TBI- it really winds out to about 4700 or so, then the TBI lacks the flow to really go much higher.

They use either LT4 or standerd z28 springs for the lift. Also you have to check and usually cut down the guide near the bottem so the retainers won't hit. Stock vortecs should be good to .480" btw...
