I vote for taking the 'burb to NM mainly because I need more motivation for mine. The crew cab looks great. Hart_Rod 11-23-2007, 08:44 PM <----- (Open mouth, insert foot) :D :), no worries. In my younger days, :o I would have taken the time to do that. Now that I realize know one will ever see that or care (except you,), I decided to skip "perfection" for the sake of time. Plus, I would like to drive it again before I retire, :D. Good to see you back, Rob! I vote for taking the 'burb to NM mainly because I need more motivation for mine. The crew cab looks great. Thanks for the props! I may take the Burb out next May, if I can get it kinda close. R Hart_Rod 11-27-2007, 09:38 PM Quick update on the frame before I head back to NM: Before and After: gringoloco 11-27-2007, 10:28 PM Lookin' good! These updates are too few and far between. Did the manifolds make it to you OK? Hart_Rod 11-27-2007, 11:19 PM Lookin' good! These updates are too few and far between. Did the manifolds make it to you OK? I've got everything setup so when I come home for Christmas I can put the chassis back together. Hopefully, the body will be ready to go back on the chassis and we can get it ready for paint. Manifolds arrived, thanks again. R/ Hart_Rod 11-29-2007, 09:26 PM I also picked up a new roof rack, :D. Hart_Rod 12-19-2007, 03:44 PM My buddy Todd just sent me an early Christmas present......check out the firewall!!!!:metal: texanidiot25 12-19-2007, 04:39 PM Tastey subtle71 12-19-2007, 05:14 PM Wow! That is going to be beautiful! Rob, I do not see how you do it. I wish I had 1/100th your talent! You are an inspiration. Nice work on the crew cab too. I stopped in tonight to take a look around. I have not been on here in a while. I have been hanging out over on hdforums.com since I bought my Harley Road King this past June. I just noticed that I appear in pink. I have been demoted from blue. Glad to see your great progress. Dean n2billet 12-20-2007, 08:11 AM Ok Rob I admit that I'm a little slow.......alright real slow but do you live in NM and Florida? I must have missed a thread somewhere..... Hart_Rod 12-20-2007, 08:24 AM Tastey Thank you!! Well my painter said it was going to look like a candy cane after he applied the white to it.......... Wow! Luckily I have a good friend who is a painter and has a nice shop that is filling in the slack from me being gone. I'm hoping to get the body back on the chassis during the holidays..... Ok Rob I admit that I'm a little slow.......alright real slow but do you live in NM and Florida? I must have missed a thread somewhere..... You and me both!! I'm burning the candle from both ends and sometimes don't know if I'm coming or going. I'm in Navy and got transferred to ABQ in August. My oldest daughter is a senior in high school and we chose not to make her move during her senior year, soooooo I'm geo-baching until school's out next spring. I've gotten to go home about once a month, so I'm trying to get the Suburban back together as best I can. Frizzle Fry 12-20-2007, 09:55 AM Oh yeah! Cant wait to see that two tone! killer71 12-20-2007, 01:23 PM If that doesn't light a fire to get this thing completed nothing will! Hart_Rod 12-21-2007, 11:02 AM If that doesn't light a fire to get this thing completed nothing will! The fire is lit, however, 1350 miles is keeping it at a low flicker, :). Hart_Rod 12-24-2007, 12:44 PM Todd got the bottom linered. If I can get the chassis back together in the next day or two, we can mount the body back on the chassis, :metal:. n2billet 12-24-2007, 12:53 PM Rob, it looks great......wish one of my projects was that far along.. Hart_Rod 12-24-2007, 04:01 PM Rob, it looks great......wish one of my projects was that far along.. As nice as yours is going to be when it's done, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Installed the hidden hitch...... Frizzle Fry 12-24-2007, 06:31 PM Installed the hidden hitch...... You had to cut that to follow the contours of the Burb frame didn't ya? Hart_Rod 12-24-2007, 07:04 PM You had to cut that to follow the contours of the Burb frame didn't ya? No, it came out of the box like that (ECE). Disc brakes are looking good by the way,. SactoJim 12-24-2007, 08:35 PM Firewall sure looks nice....makes me kick myself "again" for not smoothing mine out! Really like the liner on the bottom.....pretty fricken durable! Hart_Rod 12-25-2007, 01:01 PM Firewall sure looks nice....makes me kick myself "again" for not smoothing mine out! Really like the liner on the bottom.....pretty fricken durable! Thanks Jim. I didn't spend as much time on it as I've seen others do. I mainly wanted to fill the holes. I've seen others that look super slick when they add the missing piece on the passenger side and fill the gutter. I didn't do that because I'm just building a driver.............:D. Got the rear suspension in and test fitting my ECE SS tank. No I just need to redo the brake lines for the discs (thanks FF.......:D) and add my fuel lines ............and then on to the front. atp 12-25-2007, 02:53 PM What product did you use on the underside of the body? Hart_Rod 12-25-2007, 03:49 PM What product did you use on the underside of the body? Speedyliner........my painter buddy has a dealership with them. Hart_Rod 12-30-2007, 07:36 PM Got some more done on the chassis. Front suspension is in. I also went to the hardware store and bought some brass fittings so I could replumbed the front airlines. I think they look a lot cleaner now and will be out of the way. Putter 01-18-2008, 12:09 AM Aaaahhhhhhhhh. I am at the last post. I need more updates. Come'on. Chistmas is behind us....get back to work. Take the day off that crew-cab and get back to burb-ing. Hart_Rod 01-18-2008, 12:40 AM Aaaahhhhhhhhh. I am at the last post. I need more updates. Come'on. Chistmas is behind us....get back to work. Take the day off that crew-cab and get back to burb-ing. Sorry man. I got in a big hurry when I left FL and I forgot to take the money shot! I've got the frame pretty much done with the motor and tranny all bolted in. I should finish GLOCK's disc brake conversion and my fuel setup when I go back home in February. Hopefully the body will be ready to wet sand at that point also. I'll snap some more photo's then............:) RCbowtie69 01-19-2008, 09:59 AM i've been watching this build, looking like some paint is being laid down, keep up the progress, love the color.:metal: Palf70Step 01-19-2008, 10:25 AM Darn military life. The factory fuel lines look like they were designed to go there, :). I'm going to switch from dual lines to a single line due to a small "upgrade" I'm adding, :D. Hart_Rod 02-18-2008, 11:58 PM I also started installing the rear discs using, Glock's brackets. I'm running them on the front side of the axle just like Frizzle Fry (monkey see, monkey do :)). I still haven't got all my parts in yet, so I will probably have to finish them the next time I come in (March). Hopefully, the prototype headers will be in by then too. :metal: Palf70Step 02-19-2008, 12:54 AM Looking real good Rob. gringoloco 02-19-2008, 01:39 AM Lookin' good. Answer to the second question, I brought one to many projects home,. Actually, it was a scheduled surgery to repair my bite. It's something that needed to be done for a long time, but I just never got around to doing it. However, my bite was getting worse, so I decided now was the time. The surgery itself was not so bad, I've been in very little pain. I did have some swelling but, the worse part ended up being a virus I caught after I got home. R Long Roof 04-19-2008, 02:21 AM WOW, getting sick when your jaw is wired shut would be the worst. I hope it wasn't a stomach virus. Hart_Rod 04-20-2008, 02:27 AM WOW, getting sick when your jaw is wired shut would be the worst. I hope it wasn't a stomach virus. It was more of an upper respitory virus (lots of coughing and sinus problems). Luckily the didn't wire my jaws (they put in 3 screws on each side), but the coughing was pretty painful. Take care. R/ msgross 04-20-2008, 02:39 AM that supercharger looks nearly perfect... only way it could be better is if it was under the hood of my 05 Tahoe!.... mind if I ask what the going rate for a setup like that is? New ones retail for $5,500. You can usually picke up a good used one for around $3K-3.5K. I got mine from a board member, BigTex, for pretty fair deal. Hart_Rod 06-03-2008, 09:55 PM Got some body work done this last week. The entire body is in hi-build and ready for block sanding. First pictures are in epoxy. The supercharger should make for an entertaining ride, :D. As far as the body work, it's already been blocked a couple of times and we have about 4 more times to go. We're trying to get it painted so I can haul it to NM next month when I move the family out. Here's some more pics in hi-build..... Hart_Rod 06-03-2008, 11:48 PM More....... I think I'll just stay with the "rare" 3 door instead of "ultra rare" 4 door,. Installing a truck tailgate would have probably been easier, :D. I don't know if the top is wide enough to strectch it the width of the tailgate. I'm sure you're working on something pretty cool on the back of yours, ;). This burb is starting to come along Rob! Looks Great! :metal: Thanks Jason. It doesn't seem like much progress, but it took about 60 man hours to get it to this point. Rokcrln 06-06-2008, 01:55 AM I think I'll just stay with the "rare" 3 door instead of "ultra rare" 4 door,. Installing a truck tailgate would have probably been easier, :D. I don't know if the top is wide enough to stretch it the width of the tailgate. I'm sure you're working on something pretty cool on the back of yours, ;). No I think I will just finish the 4th door and sell it as is. I have just way too many irons in the fire and my wife really really wants me to get things in the direction of me going full time with this so that means getting a few high end projects done for show pieces as well as a couple of street rod type builds for more advertising. So the burb will go and maybe even the crew cab that right now is just a good standard cab with suicide doors on it. I have a few small things to finish up on LowBuck, get our son's 51 F1 on the road with a full built chassis but a old barn find look to the body. Then their is her 63 GMC SWB (drop member, 20/22's, 5.3L/AOD bagged and a killer paint job on an arrow striate body) to get started on as well as my 2WD Blazer build. Then throw on a hand full of customer builds that are currently on the books and I think I have a rather full plate. Sorry to rant on but I am board and wired from all the med's:lol: Kevin LFD Inc.
