I need to take the body moulding off of my 92 chevy k2500. How do I get it done? A friend told me to use a heat gun. Is this the way to go? How do I get the glue oof the paint? Tanks for any info.

The moldings on those trucks are just held on with double sided tape. If you just pull them off by hand most of the time they can not be reused because they tend to curl up. I think 3M makes a tool that fits on a air hammer its a very wide thin blade (Like a spatula). You put it at the end and pull the trigger your molding will come off flat and all you have to do is clean it and put some new double sided tape on. To remove the tape off of the truck you can use your thumb but will leave a blister. So I would use a eraser wheel (also made by 3M).

Thanks Orange70chevy, I worked on it today. It was very easy - it just came right off. Easy peasey lemon squeezy! Thanks for the heads up on the eraser wheel, as I'll be needing it. Does it work on the area behind the decals too? Incidently - I use to live in the lovely city of Waco. Wish I could've stayed. Take care.
