Hey whats up. Haven't posted much here before, mostly just looked and read up on all the good stuff here.
I have a 2wd 1982 Blazer. Currently I am rebuilding the motor and cleaning up the engine bay.
Here is a picture of the truck and the motor I thought I would share.
Thanks for looking.

Sweet man! Love those skunk stripes. Hows about a few more pics...can't quite tell from the black color or the distance of the pic but it looks as if the front bumper is different? Frenched in?

Thanks guys.
The front is a rollpan. I bought the truck years ago from a friend and I'm just starting to do my own things to it finally, the motor was first on the list of major things to do. Next I want to get rid of the stripes.
I'll get some more pics for you soon.

Welcome. The blazer looks good. What part of LA you hail from?

Thanks guys!
I live in Lafayette, LA.
The interior is basically like the original. Seats are from a Mistubishi Eclipse, along with the mirrors. I'll get pictures of the inside sometime, its nothing fancy.

I'm going put on CORRECT intake gaskets for Vortec intakes, haha. Now I can sleep tonight knowing it will be right!

Quick question....
Anyone dealt with Advantage Fiberglass before?

Really nice blazer. What heads are those? I've never seen some like that with what looks like a 2 piece top?

Vortecs. Easiest way to distinguish them is the 3 little triangle teeth looking things on the fronts.

I guess you painted them to look like that or is that standard?

They come like that. At least from Summit they do. I just cleared them.

The mirrors are mounted simple. The Eclipse mount just tack welded to the vent window support with a hole drilled at the bottom for a bolt to pass underneath the actual mirror.

And here is the only interior picture I have on this laptop.

Heya. It's been a while since my last post on this thread, hope some of you are still interested.
I got the motor and transmission done, they are back in the truck and today was my first drive around the block.
Seems to be running great!
I only have 2 small problems...
-Leaking oil sending unit fittings...
When I first finished setting the motor up in the truck, I started it and noticed an oil leak coming from the rear, dripping onto the tranny and down on the ground. I had used the same sending unit as before and knew that they were known to leak if reused, so I replaced it. Trying to take the 45 fitting off, I cracked it. I replaced the fittings and still leaking today.
I will attempt to pull all of that back out again and make the fitting outside the truck, this time with pipe dope NOT teflon tape.

Second problem I have is the tranny...
I think it just needs a bit more oil because it is picky when I try to put it in gears. Sometimes it goes, sometimes not. I re-adjusted my cable (B&M shifter), tried it again, seemed to work better. Then I tried again after it had cooled off and it took me 2-3 times to get it kicked into gear.

Ran great going down the road other than a little smoke from that leaking unit. I definately need a power steering pump bracket!
Thanks for reading. Any input will be helpful.
Thanks!
