I pulled my engine yesterday. As I was unhooking the wiring, I noticed that the mechanic that put in the HEI distributor hooked power wire to the original "resistor" wire. That would give me about 6 volts instead of 12v right?. Where should I pick up an ignition wire? I tapped a wire going across the firewall for the electrick choke. Somewhere I read that the HEI should not be connected on the same line as the choke. Why? It all sources from the same alt and battery.
