My body and paint skills are novice at best, But I finally Laid down some color over the primer.

Looks as good if not better than mine...... My Dad and Uncle painted an old International Semi in the yard once, that truck won tons of truck shows. People swore my Uncle was a ;iar when he told the truth about it. Things just worked perfect on it.

Looks nice. Black is the hardest to paint! It shows every imperfection. White is the easiest as it hides a lot. This is why you see a lot of lame resto jobs done in white.

It looks like you've got a little orange peal, but not too bad. You could consider doing a wet sand to smooth it. I'm sure there are others that know more about paint than me and will let you know if that is possible.

I'm going to try the Aerosol can with the paint loading container. This will be for touch ups and such. In a year or two I will probably redo my Blazer and turn my garage into a paint booth and buy a gun.

I'm curious to know what technique you used. Rustoleum makes a wet sandable primer.

that looks really good. that's what i wanna do with mine since i'll be taking it wheeling, to the beach, camping etc etc. i don't want to pay thousands upon thousands to get it all scratched up. i'm interested in your answers to the above questions. did you do it outside? use a booth? what did you use? what technique? anything that would help someone who has never done it before.

I may have asked this before, but what size are your tires? I like the stance. I'm gonna need new tires before winter and I'm thinking about slightly wider/bigger, but I don't want huge meats.

Thanks guys for the kind words, Paint job is descent at 15 feet but far from show quality. Yes I do have many flaws in paint like dust and bugs and body work that was missed. Overall very happy with paint job. materials where around $125.00. I used omni brand single stage acrylic enamel, I did not shoot any clear as I am happy with my daily driver results. I did hang some plastic for an attempted enclosure but it was very crude. I have a divilibiss gun that was given to me years ago. As for advice to anyone, I say just go for it. Read the directions on the paint you purchase and take your time. Prep makes all the difference and the only real threats are dust, Bugs, Water and runs. Bouncy my tire size is 32x10.5 stock suspension.

Nice paint that is what I am going to do. It will be my first paint job. My Grandpa, Dad, and Uncle can paint real good so I am hoping it's in my blood lol. I watched them all paint outside and come out with great results. Your Blazer looks great now!

Hey bouncy you should run 33X10.5's BFG makes them in Mudders and A/T's but I think that they are discontinuing the A/T's in that size. I am thinking of getting the mudders.

Great job! Looks better than most "proffesional" paint jobs I have seen around okc. You must be one of the guys if you want it done right do it yourself.

We have a large population of military here on the island and most Blazers owners I've seen are military. I purchased my 72 Blazer from a Navy sailor who's wife was driving it and became pregnant, She finally decided a New car was better for her lifestyle. I've seen four since I've owned my blazer and 2 of the four appeared restored.
