Here's some pics of a truck we're putting together. I had posted some pics of it under the "in progress 55" thread, and some people wanted more.

Are you leaving the door handles on as a anti theft device. :) Igotachevyor2 06-25-2006, 07:41 AM lookin goood bronx 06-25-2006, 10:26 AM Nice! What kind of hinges do you use on the doors? porterbuilt 06-25-2006, 04:47 PM I am not sure if the handles will stay or go, I think it would be cool to leave them on and make it where the button on the handle actuates the door popper. The hinges are from autoloc, I was pleased with how they work (the instructions were pathetic). Igotachevyor2 06-25-2006, 06:33 PM i like the looks of the rear suspension should ride/handle well dwcsr 06-25-2006, 06:48 PM Put the handel on the front of the door. Did you tack the doors in place and then do the hinges? Frizzle Fry 06-25-2006, 07:19 PM I love that thing :) Can't wait to see more. What's that... an effy in the background!!! AesC10s 06-25-2006, 07:51 PM Man that 56 is awesome. is that the wheel and tire combo they are gonna run? What size are the wheels and tires? porterbuilt 06-26-2006, 02:37 PM Put the handel on the front of the door. Did you tack the doors in place and then do the hinges? I am actually thinking about leaving the handle on the rear of the door... something different. As for the hinges, I had the door off while I placed them in the cab. I had to make a mock door edge that I then tacked to the hinge in order to get the placement just right. I then tacked the door in place where I wanted it and mounted the hinges to the door. Seemed to work out well enough. porterbuilt 06-26-2006, 02:48 PM I love that thing :) Can't wait to see more. What's that... an effy in the background!!! Yeah that's an effy back there. Seems like I can't please everyone with it...(then again I wouldn't want to!) Ford guys hate it because it has an LS1 and C4 at all corners, Chevy guys wonder why I would "waste time and money on a Ford"... fortunately there's others like me who think if something has a twin turboed LS1, custom tube chassis with all independent suspension, air ride, big rollers, sits just right at ride-height and lays on the ground when deflated... it doesn't matter who originally manufactured it!!! (unless of course it's a dodge).:) porterbuilt 06-26-2006, 02:51 PM Man that 56 is awesome. is that the wheel and tire combo they are gonna run? What size are the wheels and tires? Those are just some shop rollers (keeps me from ruining the "good stuff") The wheels are 17 inch ultra's... don't know if they make them anymore. I do know they were pretty cheap. Frizzle Fry 06-26-2006, 03:12 PM Yeah that's an effy back there. Seems like I can't please everyone with it...(then again I wouldn't want to!) True "car guys" can appreciate all that is cool, regardless of brand. To say that I'm extremely impressed with your work would be an understatement. I think you have giant-of-the-industry potential. Don't let anything stand in your way:metal: Kabwe 07-14-2006, 06:26 PM Hey, I'm a chevy guy, but I love all old classic American Steel if they are clean and nice. That looks like a hell of a Ford in the background. The 56 is what can I say after all its a Chevy farmtruckIII 07-14-2006, 07:59 PM That thing is wicked cool! I had a sectioned 67 camaro, wish I had never sold it CAL 58 GMC 07-15-2006, 11:47 AM Hey porterbult, I seen your truck in this months Classic Trucks mag. Are you chopping the top on this 56? (I Hope) if you do post some pics of it 72CSTC5 07-16-2006, 12:23 AM I said it before and I will say it again you do extremely nice work. How many guys do you have working for you? porterbuilt 07-16-2006, 01:49 AM I said it before and I will say it again you do extremely nice work. How many guys do you have working for you? Myself, my dad, and one more full-time guy (a 19 year old prodigy). Sometimes it feels like a three ring circus! I have had a few more at times, but I am extremely picky and ended up re-doing things and hence wasting time and money. porterbuilt 07-16-2006, 01:57 AM I would be to. What a validation of your work. Congratulations. Are you chopping the top on this 56? (I Hope) if you do post some pics of it Thanks dwcsr! I would like to see it get chopped 1.5"-2". I don't know if the customer wants to or not... I am hoping that when it's all put together and in a solid primer he will see that it needs to lose a little height. If we chop it, I will definitely post pics. milehightoyz 09-17-2006, 05:59 PM looks killer, how many inches were taken out? porterbuilt 10-13-2006, 10:35 PM looks killer, how many inches were taken out? CAL 58 GMC 08-28-2007, 11:40 PM Nice to see some progress pics and man that firewall is sweet! Do us all a favor and hook the owner up with this site so he can start a build thread for us to follow. I sure would like to see the end product. Igotachevyor2 08-29-2007, 06:56 PM Nice to see some progress pics and man that firewall is sweet!
