Can anyone provide me some suggestions for purchase and installation of a complete air conditioning system for my 66 ss/swb. There was never air on it. This truck is getting a new 350 engine and 700R4 transmission along with a high flow radiator for better cooling. All suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a few other companies out there also I think, maybe some others will pipe in.

Vintage Air makes a nice system. I will eventually be putting one in my 56 Bigwindow Shortstep and my 67 Shortwide. If my son keeps getting A's on his report card he might get one in his 64 for his graduation present. But I have 3 years to save for that. Good Luck.

I have vintage air in my 68 4x4 and the a/c wroks very well but is somewhat noisy from the air flow. I checked out Old Air system at SEMA in Vegas and it seemed quieter. The 2 systems are opposite as far as fan before or after the evaporator, Vintage pushes the air like factory set-ups. My main gripe with my system is that it needs the thermostat adjusted summer vs. winter and the recirculate only means that I have to run dehumidified defrost all the time which cools the heated air a lot with a 180 thermostat in my 454. I guess maybe my Dad's 72 Cheyenne spoiled me, so my 2wd is getting a factory set-up. Hope this helps.
