Ok here's the deal.I have a HP Pavilion,with the multimedia keyboard.Everything works,but after it's been on a while,and I use the volume control,it either gives a BSOD,or restarts the computer.:hmm:

I did a clean install of XP Pro a couple of weeks ago,and installed all the updates, and it still does it.I changed keyboards to a Compaq Multi, and still does the same thing. It is getting very annoying.

Is this a hardware issue,or a software conflict? It's driving me crazy. It wouldn't be so bad but I use this computer for audio recording, and the controls are nice to have working

Thanks

I assume it's a software problem, but it could just as easily be a hardware conflict (just weird that it would happen by pressing the button).

i would need to know what the BSOD error said, EXACTLY, to give suggestions.

also, it would be advisable to go to the HP website here:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers&jumpid=re_R329_prodexp%2Fhhoslp%2Fsplit%2Fdrivers

Type in your model of computer as it says. download any drivers and software related to keyboard that it finds. hopefully HP/Compaq has released an update for the software which may be at the heart of the problem.
