Hi there- I'm 38 and live a little West of Portland. I've got a '69 C20 with a 396. Runs pretty good after changing the dist to an HEI. UGLY truck. Maybe one day I'll pretty her up. Till then, I haul with her. I'm a homeowner too after all.

screamin_c10 06-29-2006, 09:09 PM Welcome from Yoncalla, Or
Movin' to Hillsboro on the 7th though :metal:
Maybe I'll see ya around...
I really hope so. Work bringing you? Drop me a PM when you get to town.
I've never really fixed up anything before. I love the thought of it and I love these old trucks so I figured they'd go hand in hand. I bought this truck with a bad distributor and swapped out the old points dist for the HEI out of my friends chevelle. I hadn't ever changed the distributor before but it sounds simple in theory and it really was barring a few things I hadn't thought of like the oil pump shaft preventing it from seating. Pretty pleasant experience outside where Chevy put the darn thing.
I need to see if anyone's talked about what I need to know. I know they have, I just need to find the posts.....
Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Mongo 06-29-2006, 10:29 PM "welcome2: From Cornelius, OR. Look around and if you can't find it ask someone will point you in the right direction.
screamin_c10 06-29-2006, 10:30 PM The wife and I start at Intel July 10th, so its relocation time
Yeah Chevy dizzys are a bit of a pain, but they finally got smart and put 'em up front. At least the engine bays are big enough to work in, live in, etc. LOL
I'll PM ya, maybe all of us Portland, Hillsboro, Cornelius, etc. guys can get together and have a beer :metal:

Frizzle Fry 06-30-2006, 02:42 AM Yeah there's a good size group of us from the Portland metro. I couldn't believe how many came out of the woodwork when I posted about a free truck that needed a rescue party (it's still ripening on the vine by the way) Have you seen my Burb running around? I see 67-72 trucks all the time around here. There's a few Blazers and a couple Burbs in town too. Welcome to the board!
Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! Go to the FAQ Submissions page and open the Index thread, it has links to all of our FAQ writeups.

Welcome from Beaverton, and also a 16 year vet from In-Hell :). What building will you be working at? I guess we are going through a huge layoff period right now.....not looking very good.
I've been there nearly 10 years. I'm in D1DR and things are looks pretty stable for us. I'm guessing you're in F20 if you're thinking layoff. I'm hoping that's just Fab pessimissim and not any real truth.
screamin_c10 07-01-2006, 02:16 PM Half my graduating class (that passed their interviews) went to Fab20 and the rest went to D1D with the wife and myself. I had no clue so many members were/are from the Portland area. can't wait to meet up with you and swap lies :metal:
Snew, D1D looks pretty stable? This is good. It's nice to see that it looks OK from the inside, at least in D1D. :)
Our UCC Intel ambassadors (Senior Techs) said that the layoff gossip is just that and is being fueled by the media and a few pi$$ed employees and stockholders. I guess time will tell
Nitro, hope to see you up there, we'll all have to bring the trucks to work, call it an Intel show and shine.
See you already made a bunch of friends here!!! :metal:
