I spent my intire life in Homewood (south suburbs) and just moved last year to Indiana.. just over the border bout 25 minutes from Chicago

I know where homewood is, i used to live in hometown...which is off 87th and cicero area. People would get the names confused all the time.

No i havent been to any of them... but I always hear they are a blast and a good show to go to

Grew up in Glen Ellyn, now my parents moved about 2 hours away in Northern Indiana - I'm in Indy for college...don't know where I'll go after that, but I'll probably move back up to the Region for a while - probably West of Chi-town.

I'm in Orland Park recently picked up a 70 c10, got it running, and now the real spending begins!

I'm in Rockford. 90 miles NW. I have a 69 C-10 that was my daily driver but now sits on jack stands in my garage with its wire harnesss yanked :(

At this point i may move it to my warehouse and do the complete re-store i have in mind. I'm eyeing a ZZ383 crate motor, fuel cell, front disc and then a new coat of paint. Maybe my 2007/2008 daily driver?

I will watch for upcoming events

Anybody know of any boneyards around here that have any of our trucks? Kinda sucks when everyone is posting "look what I found" posts and I've yet to find anything around here!:whine:

sorry man, your kinda out of luck on the junk yard thing around the chicago area. the closest ones are in wis, iowa, and indiana.

Another for Rockford, IL. Painting my 67 next week and then on to final assembly. Boise69 I think I ran into you at F&F tire world about a year ago but lost your contact info. There are three junk yards here in Rockford. I haven't checked two of them but the one I have checked has 3 of our trucks with some good parts still.

no custom paint work. Just better than stock paint jobs. i wish I did i could make some cash.

Chicago isn't that far away for me. I used to run trains up there for CSX until I transfered to another craft for them to be home more. I ate at Gabes restaraunt right next to our and the Union Pacifics tracks on Friday nights. How about painting my Chevelle for alot of truck parts. LOL

Here's one in Chicago (just found this thread). I have a 71 Cheyenne summer driver that I picked up about a year ago. So far, I've been mostly working on making it more road worthy (brakes, exhaust, Pertronix kit) with a little bit of cosmetics. Over the winter, I rebuilt the gauge cluster using one of those tach/vacuum kits and replaced the heater core. I'm trying to figure out what to do about getting the air working again.

Does anyone go to the Spring Jefferson meet/show? It's not truck-specific but there's a lot of stuff. I went last fall for the first time and was surprised to see as many trucks (for sale) as there were, considering the weather was bad.

Wow I guess I fit in this area in too many ways lol. I was born and raised on the South Side, went to high school in Blue Island, married my wife in Belvidere Il, mother and brother(s) in law still live in Rockford and my family and I know live in Roselawn Indiana (yes nudie camp captial of the midwest lol). Just recently picked up a '72 heavy C-30 1-ton dump, dually. 12 foot bed power disks 350-2bbl with the granny tranny lol It'll pull down a house, just cant stop it untilI get the new brake lines run and dash harness changed out.

Bingo lol wife took my chain saw and machette away when we moved down here lol no cutting paths through the woods. But now I have my dump truck I can lift the bed up and peak over lol

Only thing that sucks is the amount of drunks on the road afterwards. I watched a guy put gas all over and then in his new BMW that still had the sticker in the window, half the front end mashed all to hell and missing the rear bumpper. he was only 1 mile from the camp lol thenh e comes in to pay and drops a loaded .38 snubby on the floor and scared the heck out of the girl behind the counter.

Good thing was he also dropped his keys and didnt see them so the cops got him before he could drive any further. Sad thing is there are probably hundreds that leave there in that bad of shape.

I'm technically not a Chicago area guy, but I'm about an hour and half south of the NW side (Mayfair area). I'm a Chicago guy at heart, both of my folks are NW siders......can I join the club? LOL

I live in Crystal Lake, a NW suburb, and Im movin down to Champaign/Urbana in about a week for college, nice 2 see so many people from around here, i really didnt check....I have 2 trucks, a 66 C10 swb w/ a 250 and a 1972 Cheyenne 10 lwb with a 350/350, both of which are for sale due to the college money issue....see ya....

Does Peoria count? about 3 hours from northern Chicago suburbs where my wife is from (lake zurich). recently bought my brother's 67 K20 and have a 72 GMC cab to go next spring. Any get together in IL?

I'm about 80 miles west of Chicago and 45 south of Rockford. I work in Aurora tho.
