im trying to get the gauge cluster off of my truck but i cant get the headlight switch off to save my life. how might i go about doing this? does that rod slide out some how?

if im not wrong there is a button on the switch you push in and pull knob out

thank you, that makes alot of sense.

Reach up under the dash and on top of the switch you will feel the button, just push down as you pull the rod. Don't forget to disconnect the battery or it will keep your lights on.

A couple of other tips. If you have full gauge, don't forget to unfasten the oil pressure line and by ALL means hook it back up for you start the engine again. Remember the speedo cable. Unplug the wire connector.

It much easier to drop the steering column a little bit rather than risk breaking a corner off the bezel and or scratching the column.

Don't get a kink in your neck.

Yeah...it really sucks when you forget to hook it back up and have oil dripping on your floormat. And sadly, yes...this is experience talking. :lol:
