Fix these two lines, they are causing it to reload on boot:

Once you are done with that, you will need to rename both of these files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\d579032.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Alexis Martinez\Local Settings\Application Data\d579032.exe

Then reboot. Then find those two files you renamed and delete them.

Run Hijackthis, and post another log.

i ran trendmirco and found a lot more and got rid of a lot more except for one.


the file is called winlq32.dll

it's a trojan but I can't delete it nor was trend micro adle to. Any ideas on how to go about and do this.

yes. i would unload the file, then rename the file, then reboot, then attempt to delete it. most often when you're trying to delete a file and it won't, that's because it's currently in use by Windows. often times you can rename these files, reboot to force them to unload, then boot up again and delete them. i don't see anywhere in your logfile above where it is loading, though :confused:

to unload the file, copy and paste this into the RUN window found in the start menu: regsvr32 /u winlq32.dll

it would be very helpful to know what Trend Micro identified the trojan as.

if you are unable to rename the file, i can offer up other options. lots of other options :D

Trendmicro called the file Troj_agent.cbw. It says it doesn't have any current info on it.

i was able to delete it, restarted, now i'm running the scan again.

Cool. Post back with the results. Once complete, you're going to want to turn off System Restore, apply your change, then turn it back on again. This will flush any remnants of the files XP might be saving for a future restore. Be sure you turn System Restore back on, it's critical for rolling back your system in case something messes up later.
