Looking for some help. My 1999 Tahoe has a drivability problem, when you take off cold and drive at full throttle it stumbles and sputters. I also noticed when it shifts from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 it seams to stumble slightly. I also noticed yesterday that when driving down the highway I hear a slight popping through the exhaust (I think). I had the transmission checked and it is good. I had/ or have done to following in the last 6 months; fuel injection service and additive(BG 44), fuel pump (went out), fuel filter, plug wires, cap & rotor, modual, clean air filter(K&N), off road y pipe, dual 3" exhaust, Trans service. There is a code from the O2 sensor, but I did not think that would cause it. I have O2 sims to install since I removed the cats. It has 189K miles on it and I noticed this problem about 6 months ago, it have not gotten worst or better.

pooping out the exhaust is usually a intake leak. At least on carbs it is. You may have the lovely intake leak problem associated with vortec engines.

Hmm I have not heard of this problem....is it the intake to head gasket or the TBI to intake gasket you are speaking of?

injectors were clogged. I had the fuel system serviced then it worked much better with no bogging on WOT.

At that mileage, I would keep an eye on the intake gaskets too. Both of my Tahoes have needed them, right at about 85K.

While I was in Iraq my wife had the intake gaskets done at about 156K miles
