Hey there, i have a '68 that will be a work truck when it's running right. I will be looking for something to restore in the '67-'71 era. I love E. Tenn for old pasture trucks and have my eye on a couple. Y'all have a nice site here, and i look forward to learning alot!

I'm cheating ....a little. Stuck in S. FL(HATE IT HERE!!!) until Jan, then headed to my place in Hancock Co(near Sneedville, close to Morristown). I keep the '68 at a neighbors, bought the frame and cab for $300, but got alot more in it now. I have 95 ac there and will be building(myself) a log house smack dab in the middle of it. Once the house is built, i plan on restoring some old trucks/cars/motorcycles as a hobby. I just haven't figured how to keep anyone else from moving here because this place is beautiful:cool: !

I have an uncle from Whitesburg. He lives in MoTown now. My mom and dad are both from Rogersville originally. You won't be too far from Tim Christian. If ya want to, PM me your phone # and give you a holler next time I'm heading that direction.

Hey thanks for the welcome. Lot's of TN folk here eh? I will let y'all know when i get settled in. The list however is long......find a temp house(portable build/trailer/etc), 1700' driveway, well, septic, set up sawmill, build a workshop, fencing/gates, cut/skid/mill logs/rafters/etc, basement, .......ummm, and that gets me started in '06! Ah Yes, the peace and tranquility of RETIREMENT!
The '68 will be a daily driver, so i will work on it first..........

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. If that is your idea of retirement, I want no part of what you call work. Keep us posted on your progress on getting up here. You couldn't have picked a better place to settle with regards to old Chevy trucks

Luv, sorry, can't make it this time.....rain check?

Ron, well, i am working 90+hrs a week now and have been since Nov, so it will be nice to do stuff at my own pace. I figure at least 2 years to get the house built. And yep, lots of old chev's in TN, and i also discovered another equal source......Manitoba Canada! The wife is from a small town a couple of hrs north of central N Dakota, and let me tell ya, the place is real hard core GM. Now i haven't had time yet to scout the praries, but with two generations of Chev & GMC truck familys driving around, i know there are some gems waiting to be discovered. Heck, the antique tractors up there alone keep the neck muscles working o.t.! Also, on older veh's there is not alot of work ot get em back to the states. Can't wait until next summer to do some explorin.....
