I've almost got all the compnents gathered up for my new PC. One if the last things I purchased was an AMD X2 4800+ processer. It was a retail box with factory fan/heatsink--I am not overclocking at this time (likely won't). So, will this be sufficient for cooling or should I upgrade to something else?

Factory will be sufficient if you are not overclocking. I just like keeping my crap cool while gaming and stuff (and with all the video cards and other hardware I've got), so I bought the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro from Newegg.com:
