Well it was time for something newer. With 150,000 miles on the 96 Tahoe the power steering pump started leaking the anti lock brake light came on and the windsheild started leaking. Time to go. I just pick up a 2005 Colorado 4x4 with 6000 miles on it. The gas mileage in town driving was killing me. I'm sure the Colorado will be alot better.

Update! Sold it to Car-max yesterday. After driving it for 500 miles I decided it was not for me. I'm back in the market for late model Tahoe. The trucks interior has to much flimsy plastic. I could see that the center arm rest would never hold up and would be making noises before long. The factory General tires were staring to cup. (6500) miles The plastic front license plate braket is held to the bumper with two plastic anchors and it flopped around. It had alot of wind noise around the doors at certain speeds. It seemed under powered with L-5 cylinder engine. It would down shift on small grades causing loud interior engine noise. Other than the trucks looks I guess I just don't have anything good to say about it.

Good move, for sure.
I got one as a loaner for three days while my 00 Z71 was in the shop and couldn't wait to give it back, really didn't like driving it.

I can remember when they were still not out and they were saying that is was supposed to be a 'mid sized' truck, IMO not even close, seems like a warmed over S-10 at best to me.

Disclaimer:
To anyone who has one and loves it, sorry, just my experience.

Update! I replaced the 2005 Colorado with a 99 2wd Tahoe. One owner with 75,000 miles very clean. It had been garage kept. Under side looks like new. No leaks. And with the money I saved buying a clean used Tahoe I went and bought a 95 GMC SL short bed step side to drive every day.

You will love both of them. The 5.7 in the Tahoe is a good motor. Just keep an eye on the heater hose fitting where it goes in the intake manifold. They are notorious for leaking.
