Just found this out today and I thought it was kinda cool. If you turn your truck off and take out the key, hold the trip meter button in. It will flash and show you your current mileage, and then give you a readout of how many hours the engine has run. My truck has 91K and run right at 2400 hours, that comes out to an average of 38mph, which definately means I have a "city truck."

This would be a great way to tell if a seller is telling the truth that "it's all highway miles!" I would think an "all highway miles truck" would have an average of 50-55 mph?

Anyway, just passin the info along.

I'm a lil behind on all of the new fandango stuff they put in these here new vehicles. I'm 25 but before this truck the newest thing I had (2 years ago) was an 86 Toyota truck. Yup, will never buy another POS 'yota again.

The 03+ with steering contrals have more than that :) They let you set options for the keyless netry, headlight delays, door lock settings, etc. have a built in timer to use on road trips, two trip meters, average mpg, instant mpg (not on all, the discontinued it in 04) etc.

Should be interesting, I'll have to check out my 01 diesel and find out how it was used.

38 average is not too bad. Most of them average 35-40.

Thats a neat little feature that I didn't know about. Mine is about 32.3. Bought with 30+k on it, 87900 now. Most of my driving is local not city. I live in a small village and have to drive 7 mi for groceries and truck parts and get this 22 miles to a Walmart. I do pull a travel trailer but not nearly as often as I would like to. That WILL change soon.
