xmitsu10 09-02-2006, 07:55 AM It's about time I found this place with people who know something about these great trucks. Picked up my 71 in the April 06 and just bought the 69 in August. Guess I'm hooked!
Here's a few pics of the 71.

Canadian694x4 09-02-2006, 12:23 PM Welcome To The Boards From The Great White North! Sweet Truck! Is the 69 a project?
xmitsu10 09-02-2006, 03:26 PM Not sure what I am going to do with the 69. I just bought it and actually don't even have it yet. The body appears to be done right. I may keep it as a "Home Depot" truck or may sell it next spring. But the 71 is my "show" truck and keeper. I have a few plans for it too (2/4 drop, move fuel tank out of cab). There aren't many in this nice of shape in NH. Ain't it funny how "hooked" you get?

Hey 97silv, Thanks for the compliment on the truck. I'm not too far from you in NH. Been to any car shows this year? I heard there was one in Shapleigh this year. but wasn't able to make it. Went to the Oxford Show, Shine and Drag show, but not with the truck.

xmitsu10 09-07-2006, 11:57 AM Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. I am considering doing a 2/4 drop this winter on it. It needs new shocks anyways. Or do I leave it with a stock ride height? Opinions welcomed.
71chevylowrider 09-07-2006, 05:52 PM I really like the looks of them lowered, if you do it right the ride is fine, somewhere on this board I just saw 2 pretty identical trucks sitting side by side, one was lowered the other was stock, it makes it alot easier to visualize. Of course it depends on how your gonna use it, if I was gonna haul/tow heavy stuff i probably wouldn't lower it, but I don't see your beauty getting heavily used/abused, I think it would look awsome lowered.

Your truck looks great too. What year? Did you do it? What's the drop you have on it? Are those 16's or 17's for wheels? If I drop it, I am gonna use drop spindles up front and the rear is a leaf spring (not what I wanted, but what I got) so may flip the spring or buy new drop leafs for the rear. Any suggestion on what shocks? There is a sway bar up front but nothing out back (not even sure you can add a rear bar with leaf springs???).
71chevylowrider 09-11-2006, 02:32 PM Mines a 71, I'm using early classic's 4/6 drop, with lowered A arms in front & lowering blocks in the back, mines has coil springs all around, it rides great, but it's kinda hard to do any maintenance on the truck, if I had it to do over again I'd probably go with air ride's setup, you replace your coil springs with air bags, its very adjustable & with the onboard air tank you can raise it, lower it with the push of a button, I was at the end of the world rod run this weekedend & there was a couple really nice 71/72 chevy blazers with air ride & it was a seet setup, it'd be nice to raise it to change the oil & then lower to what you want your drive height to be, or raise the back a little more when you have to haul/tow something.
