Go to www.ewido.com/en/download - download Ewido. Install it.

Open Ewido. DO NOT SCAN YET. Instead of scanning now, we're going to "Update" Ewido instead using the update feature.

Next, Reboot your computer in Safe mode. For more info on how to get into Safe Mode, check out this website:

When you manage to get booted into Safe Mode, please open Ewido, do a full scan on your system using Ewido - this can take a few hours to complete - fix everything it finds (it will find a lot).

After it's completed, please reboot your computer (into normal mode, just don't press the F8 key at boot :)), then open Hijackthis again and choose "scan and save logfile" - post the new logfile for me to review.

This should clean 99% or more of the stuff off of your system. Let's get this thing clean again :)

Perfect. How does it feel to have a clean computer? :) It could not get any cleaner than that, at least - all of the utterly obvious stuff is gone.

A couple of follow up steps you should really take:

1) Turn System Restore off, then back on again. This will permanently dump the infected files from your computer. To do this, Go into the Start Menu, go into the Programs list, look under Accessories, then under the System menu, and locate System Restore icone (click on it). When it opens, there will be a link on the left hand side that says "System Restore Settings". Click that link. Choose "Turn off system restore", then click the APPLY button. Say "YES" to any warnings you get. Once it's finished, turn System Restore back on again, then click APPLY again, then OK. It is very important you turn it back on again!

2) Open McAfee and make sure it is up-to-date (check for updates). If your subscription has run out for it, I can point you to a great free antivirus program that will work just as good.

3) Down in the right-hand corner by your system clock, you should notice that Windows has an update waiting for you to install :) Please install all those updates - they install updates that fix bugs that allowed these nasty programs to install on your computer in the first place.
