I wanted to thank everyone for their input. I swapped the steering shaft and it is driving great now. It really wasn't that bad before, but I had one ragjoint fail in my driveway and it scared the crap out of me. It's nice to know that something else will have to fail to kill me now.

Here are th borgeson part numbers that I ordered (I actually got them from Summitracing). All told they cost me about $220.00. It was about $30.00 cheaper than what Borgeson quoted me to build it custom. I had to cut about 6 inches off the 1"DD tube to fit it.

14940 (13/16" 36-spline and ¾" DD)
033452 (3/4" 36-spline and 1" DD)
450024 (24" telescoping shaft 3/4DD and 1"DD tube)

I'd promise some pics, but I am notoriously slow with those.

I thought the part numbers might help someone. Newer boxes might be 30 spline instead of 36 so it always helps to count them before you spend the dough.

It's a one banana job at the most.

Glad you got it installed. Got mine installed a couple weeks ago and I'm liking the whole setup also.

Here's my pics and info.

After my rag joint ripped I ended up adding a Borgeson U-joint at the steering box and I added a Borgeson telescopic shaft (1" DD x 3/4" DD) to my 69 K20. I had previously added a Borgeson U-joint at the steering column.

Here is a pic of the u-joint which is 3/4" x 30 spline and 1" DD to fit the power steering box I'm using which is from about a 1978 Chevy 4x4.

and a pic of it at the steering column - the steering column is not secured yet so ignore the block of wood that has the column wedged in place. That U-joint is 3/4" x 36 and 3/4" DD.

The telescopic shaft ended up being about 11 1/2" long but I'm using a van tilt column.
