Bushwacker lists part numbers 40015-11 and 40016-11 for the C/K series but not a Blazer / Jimmy. The fenders look close enough but does anyone have pics or experience installing flares on a K5?

Do you have a set of the flares? They stopped making them for the first 67-72's many years ago. If you have some for a pickup, they will fit the Blazer. The fenders and wheel openings are the same. Make sure they aren't for a '73 + though.

You can still get the truck cut-away's. Coincedently i just called on these today because as you can see i have a wheel covering issue. But according to 4 wheel parts they were never available for the blazer.

The back axle could be moved but relocating the spring perches is a little too much work for what I'll gain. the cutouts should give me what I need. Now if I can find a set...

What lift are you running?
What kind of wheeling are you doing? Mud/rocks...everything?

To run 39.5's you either need to lift...ALOT or do the cut thing, no in between.
All depends on your useage and how you feel about chopping up old iron. :rolleyes:

I had the same issue and went with the cut option.

Go ahead and cut.There`s more sheetmetal where that came from.I`m a fan of minimal lift,too.I hope cut-outs and a6" lift will be enough.You may need 8".When I see the cut-outs for 67-72s,they don`t appear to open up the wells that much over stock.

There was a Blazer in the top truck challenge years back (maybe 2002) that had the bushwacker flares running 44's. I thought the article said he used 73- up flares but I could be wrong. It looked like it opened em up pretty good. Wish I could find a pic or the old magazine... well anyway I'm running a set of Skyjacker 6" springs and thinking if cutting doesn't do it then i'll put on a 2" body lift. Being in North Florida I wheel mostly trails and mud but I will try anything.

I wanted to maintain the original lines to the point that I considered sectioning out the wheel wells and adding a couple inches in the middle. Not too bad on the front but the back is a bitch. I put a lot of panels in this truck and frankly I'm burned out on hammering sheet metal.

heheheh, now THAT Jimmy is Ghetto! It's not the one I remember though. It was a primer grey Blazer that a dude drove from the east coast - cross country. He competed, won or nearly won and then drove it back home. If that story has any truth to it the dude was nuts!! It was looking good IIRC...

I used to live between Stuart and Ft.Pierce along the Indian River(Walton).I did some of my favorite wheelin`there in The Savannas.Can you say "blackwater"?No rocks,just bottomless goo anywhere off the beaten trail.We all had the huge tires back then.

That sounds like good wheeling there. We have a lot of sandy roads, some minor off camber stuff and a lot of black mud when it rains enough.

didnt he open a shop in Havlock NC theat blazer is at the off road shop thier and the owner of the shop said that it is his truck and he drove it in TTC I wish I could remember the name of the shop and the guy now. but is any one is in the area you can go check out the blazer.

I looked thru all my pictures. (im weird, i have a pic of every 69-72 blazer i can find) Anyway this is one of the better looking flared trucks.

Thanks for that pic. cant decide if they work against the lines or not. tough decision...

I think that looks better than the traditional saw-zaw hacking corners off the fenders.

side note: Why not try to modify some Ford flares? All the newer trucks have round fender wells.
